Last night I had a dream that I was in a place like south America or Mexico and a shaman and I were stood by a fire where he was teaching me to dance like animals?!

Every dance was done in a kind of shadow projected by the fires flicking.

Dance of a horse
dance of a buffalo
&c.
Each dance was just moving different steps.

It feels like I had something like a subconscious teaching dream.? that is not relevant to current British society

any ideas?

After researching my dream and being proud of my ability of breaking it down to layman terminology I am drawn to break down yours for the sake of practice I hope you dont mind my newbie interpretation.

After a bit of research, I came to understand that rituals in dreams are symbolic of a rite of passage. Associated with tradition. A graduation from one moment to another. Something to remember is that sometimes rituals are also performed to remedy a situation " rain ritual' or to avoid an evil "ritual of sacrifice an entity"

Do you enjoy dance?

Dancing itself is done to release something. stagnant energy, to loose weight or perhaps due to the rhythm of the music. Coordination while you dance should be important as it foretells if you are a quick learner or perhaps your style is not good enough to fit in. Or maybe you are amazing and not only do you fit in, but you stand out and shine to the delights of the crowd.

In your dream were you happy dancing?

aniamals in dreams symbolize your own physical conditions and or perhaps your attitudes, personality.

Do you like animals? Feelings towards horses and buffalo are highlighted.

Horses in dreams denotes signs of courage, success and wealth. Speed, fertility (included by carl Jung) are also included. Take into account to "tame the wild" in you and to "stop horsing around", and " get off your high horse"

Buffalo is survival, strength and power, heritage and roots. It could also indicate a warning to not deviate from your path.

Hello starfox

Northvirgo came up with some nice information.

I feel like this was not a typical dream. The shaman is a spiritual guide and healer, and I feel that in this "dream" your astral self was receiving some help in balancing your energy or energy centers through release, reactivation, and rearrangement of forces within your energy body. Very cool.

Have you dreamt of shamans or anything like this before?

Thank you for sharing this dream/experience. I find it fascinating!

Thanks for replies.

You know I seem to have more than my share of odd dreams.!

Ra, I kind of feel deeply more in tune with nature after that dream.

That makes sense. I suspect getting "in tune" was part of the purpose.
