In the dream: Got new work in a different city but not art related (I don't think it was anyway). But somehow find myself in this huge bright white room lots of paintings on the walls, drawings strewn about, lp's, music instruments everywhere but not a disorganized room just very relaxed and big, some instruments were being played but in a jam session/practice way, there was a foreign cultured lady who was introducing me to artists there. There were also white desks, white chairs, a white stapler. I saw the insides of a piano, I think I lasered in on its contents somehow because I don't think it was physically open. The inside of the piano had fancy wooden instruments sorted there like intricate puzzle pieces. The people there wanted me to learn how to play. My dvd collection was there on a shelf and I was happy that some of them actually liked my movies since most people don't like the foreign language films that I do (that was my thought in the dream but it's true in my waking life). There was a woman there who was talking about her past, how she fell in love with a piece of art back in the day and she loved it so much that she stole it from the set of a movie or a music video (?), then she started laughing about it hysterically, at how rebellious she was.

Wondering what this dream would mean? Especially the emphasis on white.

Hello Lonake

It could be suggested that some new (white) form of creativity/art/expression is presenting itself, perhaps involving sound, music, or media of that sort, although the music could be symbolic. This dream could indicate the seed of such an idea or opportunity.

Is there an abstract, different, or "foreign" (foreign lady/foreign language films) kind of idea or opportunity formulating in your mind or otherwise in your life, something that has the potential of coming together (puzzle pieces) to make "beautiful music" (piano/instruments)? I'm thinking the musical theme is symbolic of creative energy, but I'm not sure.

Hi Ra, thanks for your thoughts In my waking life, prior to the dream a few wks or so, I had started back in on my drawing which I had left for a while. Also a few days after the dream I accidentally stumbled onto a course for music that I've been sporadically toying with. I usually have very strange dreams, this one was pretty normal by comparison, but maybe it is just one of the simple ones. I thought there might be more to it since I don't usually have dreams that literally reflect my waking life to this degree. This one seemed to be on the precognitive side which is eerie...my dreams don't tend to go that route.

Mine either. Sometimes subconscious recognition can seem like precognition, but there is a difference.

Thank you for sharing your dream.

Hi Lonake,

Liking Ra's line of thoughts with the ideas formulating.
I'll add some more feedback.

The moving to the city. Did you change your approach lately? Perhaps related to work? Or are you growing more into your own ideas, feeling confident you know how to deal with real life situations and knowing you have the knowledge and trust yourself to apply it correctly? I'm inclined to link this to how you deal with work or in relation with people/society even

Artists also come up for creating the life you want to. Which I suspect you have been taking a lot of steps towards it lately. Whatever activities you have been doing all have a healing quality (the white) and you have a 'bright vision'. You are in touch with your potential.

The desks, the stapler is all about organising. Seeing the potential in it (a plan? How you express yourself in work?) and it falls into place.

Just some thoughts for now. Would love to hear how you feel.

The stealing bit could point out that you are not completely sure of your own approach yet. You are 'borrowing' other people's ideas as well to 'feel safe'' when expressing how you act in the outside world. But that's 'old'. You don't need to do that because you have all the instruments yourself.

Bye

Ra, Ahh, a good point. Yes, subconscious recognition, I'll have to have a think on the term. It would be strange for me to have a precognitive dream all of a sudden so I was likely mistaken

Hi Twirl, Thank You for offering your thoughts
Yes, the work situation. I'm in the midst in my waking life of transferring into a new position that will have me applying my skills at a higher level than I have in the past. I do feel good about this change..I feel as if I'm growing more into mySELF if that makes sense, as in I'm expanding outwards to fill an empty space, still me, just a bigger version. Hmm hard to explain. Yes I am more trusting of myself, that goes along with it, but spills over into other areas too unrelated to work, just in general.
Thanks for the comment on the white, it kept coming up in different objects.

"Artists also come up for creating the life you want to. Which I suspect you have been taking a lot of steps towards it lately. Whatever activities you have been doing all have a healing quality (the white) and you have a 'bright vision'. You are in touch with your potential."
---This completely resonates, yes I've been very proactive in this change.

"The desks, the stapler is all about organising. Seeing the potential in it (a plan? How you express yourself in work?) and it falls into place."
---I would say that as of the past few months I've been making significant long-range plans and putting them into action. And before I was more the type who just dealt with whatever was in front of me and that held almost all of my attention. I feel more clear now with this long range planning, standing back a bit more and yes seeing the potential, and the true results. And you're right, it has necessitated a more organized approach. Interesting! I would've never thought that about the office supplies, I would've never thought anything about them, but in the dream there was a focus.

"The stealing bit could point out that you are not completely sure of your own approach yet. You are 'borrowing' other people's ideas as well to 'feel safe'' when expressing how you act in the outside world. But that's 'old'. You don't need to do that because you have all the instruments yourself."
---There are people I respect and I've been, how do I say, trying on their mindset (?) if that makes sense, because I admire their approach to things that would just cloud me completely on the mental level. A bumpy road it's been to integrate these things, and now I feel as if they've unknowingly helped me pave a smoother path for myself, but it's brick by brick/stone by stone. Well it's the case that I've seen clear results, improved, since my change in approach, but I need the clear results to be confident of this, to make sure that the change I'm making is "right", as in "it's working." So if I have the instruments as you say, maybe that means I don't have to worry about it so much? Is that where the piano part could come in I wonder?

Thanks for stringing these disparate parts together so beautifully ~ much appreciated !
