Last night I had a bunch of odd dreams. I'm typing them all in here because 1. it helps me to remember all that I dreamt last night, and 2. maybe someone has some interesting interpretations of any or all of the dream symbols.

First, I kept dreaming that the power in my house was going off and on. It does this every once in a while, flicker off and back on for like a second. I woke up and saw that everything was fine. I don't know if the power really did do that while I was asleep.

Next, I dreamt that I was getting onto the highway, going on the highway ramp - can't remember if I was driving, in a vehicle, or if I was on foot. Anyway, along the ramp I saw these cats that had been run over. They weren't all completely run over, a few were, but most were partially run over, like their legs had been smushed. (I know this sounds gross - it actually didn't look gross in the dream, just sad). They were all a light orange/peach/white or tan/white color. I walked over to one of them who's legs were smushed and his head was up. I was looking at it to see if he was still alive, and I saw him move a little. So, I went over to him, slowly because I didn't want to frighten him/make him feel threatened. I put my hand on his face and was petting him. I wanted to help. Then I woke up.

Then, I dreamt that I saw this little girl, like 4 years old doing gymnastics. But she was very advanced for a 4 year old. Her father was there pushing her. I think she won some medals or something at some meet. But I couldn't believe how advanced she was and that her father was pushing her so hard when she was only 4.
Next, I dreamt that I was looking at photos (actual photos - not online pics). It looked like photos of Christmas time, but not of my family, instead it was people from my old job. It was probably some Christmas/Holiday party or something. I remember seeing a lot of green - like people wearing green, and there was some red obviously - Christmas colors.

Another random gymnastics thing - I also dreamt that there were these people in the gym trying some basic skills. However, I didn't understand why the coach had them trying skills that were a little too advanced for new beginners. It wasn't anything risky, but they weren't skills that a brand new person would get. There are easier skills to practice and learn first. I also dreamt of some random guy that taught some kind of jiu-jitsu class that I thought of trying. (This was all in my dream, I don't know any jiu-jitsu instructors nor was I planning on taking a class).

Lastly, I dreamt that there was a flood of water, and some cars were overturned in the water. The water looked kind of dirty - brown water, but it was still. I and the other people there were keeping track of the cars, when they would end up flipping over in the water. One of the cars was my boss's car - and we were wondering how to tell him.

Hello cooljen

It looks to me as if the dreams in this series are all related.

The first two have to do with issues concerning your personal "power" or energy. The power going on and off symbolizes a disruption in your energy flow. Cats can symbolize feminine aspects of self or feminine energy, so here we have injury to this part of yourself (smushed cats) which is disrupting or interfering with your path/progress (cats on ramp to highway).

The next couple of dreamlets could be pointing to the cause or root of the disturbance.

It is likely that the 4 year-old gymnast is your 4 year-old self. What was your life like when you were 4? How was your family life? Were you "pushed hard" or expected to do things that you may not have been ready for?

The next dreamlets pose more questions/suggestions … Do you feel as if you lack some basic skill-set which is keeping you from advancing socially or professionally? Do you feel as if more is expected from you than your abilities provide? Are you feeling "defensive" (jiu-jitsu)? Or maybe you need to learn to defend yourself in a more balanced way?

The last part suggests that there are strong emotions affecting you (flood water), thought the true cause may not be apparent or clear (murky/dirty) and you may not even recognize them fully (still water) but the effects can be seen perhaps in your social and/or professional life (cars flipped/boss's car).

How do you feel about this? What do you think?

Wow how insightful! Thanks Ra for giving me an idea of what it all could mean.

I'm going to have to think about it some more to figure out what all the parallels are - stuff going on at work, different people, etc. , but your description makes a lot of sense and gives me something to work with.

I'm amazed you were able to tie all those random things together. I have lots of dreams with really random symbols and sometimes its hard to see a link!

Dreams only appear random. Glad Ra saw the connections!

Let us know if you figure out the parallels and if you have any other questions.

Thank you for sharing your dream.
