Dreammoods definition scared me with their meaning. Looking at the mythology aspect makes it a little easier. Anubis is Suppose to be protector of travelers, astral projection, and god of underworld.

The dream could suggest the emergence of sub/unconscious energy/material (Anubis) or even a secret, which is "infectious" or "devouring" in nature, capable of spreading and affecting others once exposed or realized.

It could be suggested that there is an effort to keep this energy/issue contained (quarantined) which has caused a communication problem (forgot cell phone) .

I have no idea what any of this means, if anything. Does it mean anything to you?

Sorry I didn’t reply earlier.

The mansion tells me a) this dream is about you/yourself. But since it is a mansion there seem to be quite a few ‘solid’/’established’ belief systems in there. And most of them are not your own! It’s incredibly crowded.
So the next step would be to determine if this house is indeed representative of you or that it may have another ‘social function’, like how you would like to appear in the world.
Also the brown here could refer to some ‘old’/’secured’ belief systems. How did you feel about the brown? If it was ‘a good brown’ it talks of security. If it wasn’t it is a rather ‘fixed colour’ with a bit of ‘dullness’ in it.
Anubis here is a tricky one, because it is a very personal dream symbol.
Then the pregnancy of the old school friend. Again, someone else is in your house (could also refer to how you relate to others socially, but I think it shows you more how others influence you. Do you have a strong sense of having to adjust to social standards for example?) influencing your outward view and actions. Perhaps you feel like rebelling (birth of the dog and then the dog biting: showing you they all act like zombies!). Anubis I would see as a helper, bringing in some of that ‘underworld knowledge’ which is not only threatening and dangerous, but can show us what is beneath the surface.
Key would be to look how you saw this friend. Was she a very liberating person for example?
Or perhaps you shared an old common base which resonated to you at some level and pointing out the need to give some more thought to these ideas.
Unfortunately you forgot your means of communication with that deeper part of yourself/your inner knowledge. So once outside the house it is immediately closed off for access again.

And the government is a very restrictive force: please all walk in the same line! No other thoughts then we commonly belief, please!

Also the fact you felt afraid a little: might be that 'ideas'/'thoughts' you have that are out of the ordinary scare you a little. After all it is in contradiction with the 'safe' & 'secure' setting of the mansion and the colour 'brown'.

The guest was Robert Moss, promoting his new book Dreaming The Soul Back Home. At one point he said this:

Did you know that there's an asteroid Anubis (number 1912) that you can check in your own natal astrology chart? Would be interesting to see where your natal 1912 Anubis is, and where it was transiting at the time of your dream?.... hmmmm
