Then I held a designer bag which was made of a small white basket with floral patterns on it.
When I opened the top I discovered that the 'bag' was empty.

These types of bags are what you carry your personal stuff in, so they can represent your identity, emotional contents, necessities, mental state, secrets, and/or values. They can also be adornments or status symbols so they can represent personality, or the outer façade.

When choosing/selecting a bag, it may be more about "choice" and less about "bag".

Why did you choose the designer bag? How did you feel when you discovered it was empty? Did you expect something to be in the bag?

Are you making any choices in waking life that may have some correlation?

I chose it, because I really liked the floral pattern and it reminded me of happiness - like Springtime when everything's beautiful and alive again after a long, dark, cold Winter.
