seeker3030 Knowflake Posts: 780 From: UK Registered: Dec 2009	posted June 25, 2013 05:35 AM Very odd dream just before waking this morning which saw myself and my partner on a hike with a map. We were walking through some beautiful countryside and following public footpaths through farmland etc. Having a lovely time. We cam upon a house which was marked on the map (and which I recognised oddly enough - we've been looking at houses to buy and I think it was one of those) and the map stated the footpath ran right through the house and that the owners were perfectly aware of this. So off we went! We were walking through corridors on the ground floor of the house following the map and then came out of the back door into a beautiful garden surrounded by hills and mountains. The path then went dramatically up hill but the problem was the slope wasn't easily traversed! The owners of the house had tried to build a set of stone steps up the hill to make the climb easier but it wasn't finished and we ended up scrambling up holding onto tree roots etc and giggling as we went! Off we went again and then seemed to come round in a big circle where this time we found ourselves on the top floor of the house, hiding in the bathroom/bedrooms and darting across the landing and down the stairs so as not to disturb the owners! We came out in the garden again and faced the same slope where we just looked at each other and laughed. The mood of the dream was very happy and contented but we both felt slightly puzzled at the fact we kept coming back to where we'd started and couldn't seem to find the next stage of the path (how metaphorical!) But all in all we had a great laugh and the sun was shining so not a horrid dream by any means. If anyone has any interpretations I'd love to hear them. My partner and I have been going through some tough and testing times in our relationship recently but seem to be gradually overcoming them so it would seem to have something to do with that. "… we kept coming back to where we'd started and couldn't seem to find the next stage of the path …" Sounds familiar, right? The dream reflects the worthwhile effort (hiking) the two of you are putting into finding direction (map) and structure (house) in your lives together. It reflects the difficulties (steep slope) you are encountering and suggests that overcoming these challenges will bring you back in a better, "higher" position (top floor of house) together. Your take on this makes total sense. We've both been having similar 'struggle' dreams and now we're on a better footing with each other, they seem to have stopped so it's definitely what they were about.
