Lately I've been having super vivid semi-lucid dreams, wherein different things occur. I know this is very general, but they all tend to blend together. Some reoccuring patterns I can pick out are sexual encounters where sex is implied but I never actually witness the acts, and people (both who I know irl and who I don't) who are extremely friendly like we're best friends. I've looked some into shamanism hoping to find an explanation for these reoccuring themes, and I did read something about sex in dreams/on the astral plane being a transference of energy. Anyone know anything about this?

Hi Jovial,

Sex in dreams is about integrating new parts. The people in your dreams most likely portray these aspects that you want/wish to integrate in yourself.
The vividness is normal once you start paying attention to it.
I'll look for some threads for you where the vividness has been described. They may give you some more insight.

Here's a thread in regards to vivid dreams:http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum15/HTML/003009.html

So the vividness has to do with being conscious of dreams? I don't keep a dream journal, but I use my dreams as a way to get in touch with my subconscious. I usually feel my emotions through my dreams, and not so much in the waking world. Could this integration be the integrating of my shadow self?

Dreams are a great way to get in touch with your subconscious. If you work with them a lot they'll guide you into being more in touch (feeling your emotions) in real life too
I wouldn't expect these dreams to refer to your shadow parts. They have a different way of submerging. Except if you already worked a lot with your shadow self a lot they could possibly referred to this.
This (short description) feels more like persona aspects to me. Sex & joyfulness seem present most in your description.
Shadow aspects make us less happy/scared even if we just begin to work with them. They are surpressed and hidden because we aren't that proud of them.

Hope this helped. Happy dreaming
