I think I have a good handle on this dream but if anyone wants to practice their interpretation skills then please do!I'm looking down on the scene. It's just before sunset and the setting is very much like this: There are long rocks jutting out of the sea, creating little shelves to stand on and the sea is quite foamy around them. There is a grizzly bear pawing at a giant anaconda on top of one of the shelves. It's almost like how a bear will catch fish by standing in the middle of a river. The anaconda is still sleepy after being pulled from the ocean by this predator and is reluctant to participate. The bear seems very sure that it is the stronger of the two. Finally the huge snake lifts it's head, signalling that it's ready and both it and the bear open their mouths. They lunge for each other and clamp down on one side of the other's mouth and cheek. The bear quickly learns that the jaws of the anaconda are far too strong and it tries to shrug the snake off, jerking backward awkwardly and now visibly fearful. The anaconda releases the bear's mouth and rears back, lunges sideways at the bear and saws through it's neck, severing it's head with complete ferocity in a very gruesome display. With utmost ease the snake slithers into the empty bear, disappearing from sight, to start it's unexpected meal. Tell me your thoughts please! ETA: I should add to clarify that by "empty" I mean that it completely disappears and somehow I know it will eat the innards of the bear but the anaconda is so huge that it doesn't seem possible. Hello MsPrism Yes, a very cool dream. Very powerful imagery with two powerful animals. I'd like to think about this one for a moment, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. I'll be back as soon as I can. IP: Logged |

Thank you both! It was actually quite terrifying as I woke up but luckily I immediately recognized what my subconscious was trying, yet again, to tell me. I am so curious to hear your thoughts, Ra! IP: Logged |

Animals often represent aspects of ourselves, but they can also represent people in our lives who possess qualities you may associate with the animal, and in this case I'm not sure which way to go with it, inner or outer. I tend to lean towards the inner in most cases because, inevitably, that is where it all originates. That's what I'll do here. The sea is the unconscious. Its foaminess indicates a churning within, a movement of energy. The snake, as a primitive animal, represents the movement of energy/material from deeper layers of the unconscious into awareness. The bear possibly represents a "bearish" aspect of yourself, perhaps a part of you which has dared to evoke/disturb/awaken this unconscious material. The dream suggests that you have awakened, perhaps intentionally (bear is sure of itself), some sort of material within you which has been lying dormant (sleepy snake in sea), some sort of long-buried issue or emotion. Perhaps you feel as if you are ready to tackle this issue, but it holds more power than you realize. This awakened material threatens to consume you, perhaps on the inside (eats innards of bear), where no one else can see, silently. Does this make any sense? What do you think? IP: Logged |

I'm so impressed Ra! You hit the nail right on the head.I'll elaborate on the specifics, in case you're interested. I do see the Bear as both myself and the kind of people I have as partners. In short, because I am aggressive and slightly arrogant about this matter, I attract this kind of person. The Snake represents my sexual side that I like to keep buried. (hello Freud?) I do this because none of my partners have been happy with this side of me. Which has caused me to push it down and keep it hidden. When they have brought up the fact that I'm very evasive about my own pleasure, I seem arrogant as I say "It's just not a side of me that you can handle." Of course this leads to the Bear activity of trying to rouse that side of me to action by egging me on and pushing my buttons. I also think that I am Bear like toward myself and have tried to control this unconscious aspect. I've been having snake dreams like this for awhile and the anaconda is always the same, it looks like this: But impossibly huge. I believe what the dreams are telling me is that I have used force to push away this part of me and it has worked. I shouldn't be fooled though as when I bring this to the surface, nature will take its course and I must simply work with the energy instead of trying to beat it into submission. So you can see how you were right completely! Thank you so much for interpreting! IP: Logged | |
