Hello BirdLee
I agree. It sounds as if you began to become consciously aware of what your astral/unconscious self was doing while you were asleep. There is indeed a connection between the dream world and the astral, and a fine line separating them. Really, there is no separation, only an illusory separation delineated by levels of mind and awareness.
Our dream world is created by our individual mind, governed by our own subconscious and unconscious projections. The astral world is also created by mind, but it is a creation of the collective Mind, governed by the collective Mind, of which we each are a part.
The two worlds, dream and astral, often overlap and intertwine. It is our degree of conscious awareness that determines/changes our experience in each realm. Becoming aware in a dream, it becomes a lucid dream, and you can control every aspect of the dream consciously, even using this state to reach out of your own mental creation and astrally project.
Whereas the dream world is a personal expression, the Astral is more expansive and inclusive, and we can experience this, too, with varying degrees of awareness. The less aware we are of being in the astral, the more dream-like the experience, although there does tend to be a different feel to it. The more aware we become, the more our individual minds control/create and the more real it becomes as we share in a greater portion of the collective Mind … and the more we remember when we awaken.
Of course, this is just a simplified explanation.
Make any sense?
