I had a dream last night that there was a fungus growing out of my thigh that looked like a mushroom, but the stem bit was buried inside my leg, so I picked it out and it left a gaping wound with what looked like rice or maybe small maggots inside. Then I noticed there was another one growing from just above my hip on the same side (Left), but this one was bigger. I picked it out as well and there was another big wound, but inside this one was some sort of alien plant with fronds that swayed around like tendrils, and I remember at one point it almost looked like a lotus that retracted at my touch.It left me feeling uncomfortable because of how surreal it was, and I was wondering if anyone could interpret for me? Also there was a continuation of the dream that I can't remember well, where that area of my body that had been opened was sort of covered with a mesh, or a grid of some sort. IP: Logged |

Hello  Have you any concerns or anything worrying you right now? I got the feeling from the dream, that something is literally "eating away at you", from inside to outside. You also had a mesh around, are you trying to protect yourself? Sounds a scary dream. best, Sparkling IP: Logged |

Not anything more than usual, I do go to therapy every other week so I get to talk about my concerns. My therapist thinks I have repressed memories, though, so maybe that's it.IP: Logged |

Hello JovialMagus Fungi and mushrooms grow from and break down that which is dead, so the dream could suggest that, at least subconsciously, you have begun to notice the emergence of material (mushrooms) that has its roots deep within you, originating from something long "dead"/forgotten/buried. Attention to the emerging material/ideas (pick mushrooms off) reveals the underlying psychological wound (gaping wound) which has affected your emotional (left) balance/stability (leg). The dream suggests that this unacknowledged/unknown (alien plant) issue/material is stirring within your unconscious, beginning to reach out (swayed/tendrils), but you are not quite ready for it yet (retracted at touch). It is also suggested that it holds the promise of understanding/enlightenment (lotus like) when you are ready. In any case, a sort of structured healing has begun (mesh/grid over wound), so keep up the good work! Looks like I am in agreement with your therapist. What do you think?
