Hey all

This is not a long dream.

I walked into a house where new neighbours had moved in and the living area was full of cats! Then there were lots of kittens (black and white). Then I was in a sunny room and the window was closed, so I opened it as a huge black bird flew in! I got worried it would eat the kittens, then I realised the kittens were climbing out of the window. There was a drop below so I started to save them all, grabbing them so they would not fall but I could not save one of them felt so sad as it fell.

Lots of animal symbolism...

So I think the black bird was a threat...had come to hurt (or deliver a message), the kittens are something I wish to protect, nurture and care for, be a mother figure?

I had see my mum IRL the day before, perhaps it stirred up emotions in me about parenting and care.

Hello Sparkling

I think you're exactly right.

Cats/kittens represent instinctual, feminine energy. They are the feminine archetype. Black and white can indicate either confliction or cohesion of opposing energies within - dark/light, bad/good, unconscious/conscious. The black bird symbolizes unconscious energy/material (which you have identified as a threat) which is entering your conscious awareness (open window). The kitten you could not save is an aspect of self, a part of yourself you feel was lost.

"Stirred up emotions" and "parenting and care" issues between you and your mother would make a lot of sense of this dream. Is this the case?

Hi Ra

I am glad I am getting better at understanding my dreams, shows how far I have come in a few years!

Yes, I think parenting and care are indeed key themes. I had invited my mum and step dad up to visit...in an attempt to work on the adult relationship. It kind of worked but somehow didn't, my attempt to save the one kitten was perhaps my attempt to save the young "me" like you indicated.

My mum was on a meditation retreat the previous week and had done meditation on me as a baby. That morning I woke up thinking of her and invited them to visit in real life. So perhaps her mediation is working but the reality is not, as that interraction has not changed.

Hi Ra,

Had a anxiety dream at 5am this morning. I was at a fairground with a food court with a friend. There was a group of guys and two women, behaving in a very sexualised manner. It was night and dark and the lights from food court highlighted everything.

I mentioned to my friend about their behaviour and that I wanted to go to another food stall to get some different type food. This was across the park. I walked alone to the other food court and noticed the same group of guys following me. One of the guys had a needle in his hand, I saw it glinting in the night and realised they wanted to drug me and take me.

I ran towards the other food court and reached safety.

Similar to the crow in my previous dream: a threat, this time involving sexual themes. Perhaps this is me feeling threatened as a teenager? I get the sense I am working through issues of not being "taken care of".

Yes, I think you are right.

This dream seems to be looking at choice, choices you have made. (food court)

Interesting.

Choices made but I can't change those choices now?
