Here's one I'm trying to wrap my head around...

To start, in the waking world I recently moved cross-country (after talking about it for so many years). The new place I'm in is basically the setting...

I don't remember much, honestly, but what I do remember was being near a window, like a bay window, in the house I'm in now. In the waking world, there's quite a few trees. In the dream, it was more open.

Essentially what happened was, it was daylight outside. I don't know if it was cloudy or just the sun shining in. Probably cloudy, as it is here. Suddenly, it got dark outside the window.

I looked outside, and stopped. The sky had turned very dark, with a very dark, sickly orange tinge to it. What I saw outside the window was a distant city miles away. It was in flames, skyscrapers wrecked, and famous landmarks gone. I recognized it as Seattle (which I have moved to within an hour drive of now).

I looked to my left, and saw a spiritual entity I've had contact with in my mind's eye in the waking world. Usually, he (it seems masculine anyways) is ... much bigger. But he was human size now. Not human, of course, like a construct of sorts. A little hard to explain. Closest analog I can think of to explain his type would be the fal'Cie in the Final Fantasy XIII series. Anyways, he looks towards me, after he looks out the window himself. Though his facial expressions are... almost nonexistant, I could sense the deep concern. He looked at me, pensive.

In my thoughts in the dream, one word came to mind: "Nuke."

Out loud in the dream, I looked at the spirit... and summed up my thoughts: "Mission failed..."

I woke up, and was cold for hours until I went for a run.

Kinda disconcerting, really.

It is indeed scary. Sounds like an apocalypse. Who is this entity to you?

Something I've had dealings with for the past two or so years, who has allies as great in stature if not greater than he, and is working to prevent such an apocalypse from happening.

I've had mental images of stuff that's decidedly Lovecraftian be glimpsed in my mind's eye, as pretty much the sort of thing that they're trying to prevent and if that fails, to destroy it before it can do further damage.

These ones I do have dealings with seem to be more protective. There are others of their kind who... have a lesser view of the human race. As far as influencing people, they (the not-so-nice ones) have plenty of competition from the sense I get of it. (be it spiritual parasites, all-out demons, very strong-willed individuals, etc.)

So you do not think this dream is a reflection of inner energies or personal stuff?

Yes and no. It does feel like a warning to get my act together, and a glimpse of what could come regardless of my actions, if that makes sense.

As one entity (not related to the above-mentioned) has put it, I seem to have a "blatant disregard for time". So in this regard, yes, there is a reflection of personal/inner energy in my admitted chronic time-wasting skills

Yes, I think the dream could reflect your inner/mental state, your emotional energies. It could be suggested that you are feeling very uncertain about your decision to move and its affects upon your future. Don't doom yourself to failure too quickly, try not to project that energy. Focus on the positive and carry on with your plans. Let's see where your dreams go as time progresses.
