I had a very bizarre suicide dream last night. I dreamed that I read in the newspaper that someone that is not longer part of my life, committed suicide. In the dream, I started crying and felt extremely sad until I got over it. This person hasn't been a part of my life in a very long time. I wonder why they popped up in my dream in such a dark way. Any ideas? Thank you! IP: Logged |

You might feel concerned about this person. You obviously have much emotion toward him even if he is no longer part of your waking life. Do you miss him? Perhaps you felt that he is hurting himself in some way.

Hello MineAgain The subconscious can make some seemingly strange associations. When you think about this person, what associations do you make? What comes to mind? This person likely represents an aspect of yourself, an aspect that you want or need to change/transform/end (suicide). Reading about it in the newspaper could suggest that this is something you may have been ignoring, perhaps for "a very long time" (is this the meaning of the person from the past?) and this is the way your subconscious is bringing it up. It is old (person from past) news (newspaper) perhaps? But stuff you have repressed, put out of your mind, holds an emotional charge (crying/extremely sad) and needs to be released/transformed/ended (crying/suicide). What do you think? IP: Logged |

Thank you both for your responses. Well, I dealt with the issue of suicide a while back. I acknowledged the fact that I had suicide thoughts and had to face them in order to move on. Thankfully, these thoughts no longer haunt me. As for him, I'm not quite sure why he popped up in my dream. I mean, the dream happened the night I deleted/throw away some things from the past I was still holding on to. I realized it was time for me to turn the page. I no longer have feelings for this person and I don't miss them at all. He's part of the past. I'm not interested in rehashing it. I don't feel connected to the person like I used to and I'm not looking to reconnect. IP: Logged |

Well, you solved the dream. It was the thought of suicide casted upon another person, who comes from the past, with which you were busy before the dream. Extraordinary how you felt so much in the dream for someone you don't care for, or don't really think of. You perhaps casted him in the role of you. Good thing you got over the suicide thoughts!
