In my dream I was laying down on a low bridge, and it was a really beautiful and peaceful fall day. I was eating golden plums, which were overly ripened, and tasted really sweet. I saw a female deer with her baby, and she came up to me and I was reaching down from the bridge, feeding her the plums out of my hands. Her baby started to wonder off, and just then I saw 2 wolves along the bridge. I was yelling to scare them away, but when I looked back at the baby, it was surrounded by about 10 wolves. I started throwing rocks at them, and then I started breaking plates on the ground to try to scare them away. They weren't phased by it, and they attacked the baby deer. It was still trying to run, but they ripped it's skin off, and all I could do was watch in horror. The mother at one point ran towards the wolves, but she was chased back towards the bridge by a horse. I was hysterical, and I felt like it was my fault because I had distracted the mother deer by feeding her.

Later, I was sweeping up the broken plates, and this man came up to me with an ax. I don't know him in real life, but I knew him in the dream. He was very tall, with dark hair, and he was telling me that he hadn't decided if he was going to kill me or not. It had nothing to do with the deer, but he was upset with me about something. Even though I should've been scared of him, I was really attracted to him. He was acting very calm, but creepy, and holding the ax the whole time. I was touching him and trying to seduce him, and then I woke up.

I have a lot of weird dreams, but I really don't know what to think about this one. I just had a similar wolf attack dream about 2 months ago, and recently I've been dreaming about wolves, although most of them weren't as terrifying. Anyone have any thoughts?

I wrote this almost 2 months ago, and these dreams were right around July 4th.

"The last few nights I've had nightmares. One involved being robbed then shot by people that I thought I could trust. In another, I watched helplessly as all of my pets(past and present) were viciously attacked by wolves, then the wolves went after my mom. Luckily at that point I became lucid and shook myself awake before it became any more horrific."

Most dream interpretations say that wolves represent enemies, so this has me worried.

About your first dream Bluejay, are you having a sort of fight in your mind. The good guy and the bad guy types? Just my 2 cents. What occurred to me immediately after reading is that you have a loving caring, innocent, tender side to yourself which results in some life situation that is your baby. BUT you have some wolfy ideas and/or possibilities which attach this baby of yours and tear it apart. I think the same interpretation goes for that guy. You have some male figure in your life who is dominant, a bully and yet you are attracted to him like generally women are to an alpha man. Are you inviting trouble by getting involved with someone who is a danger to you? Are you getting focussed on something and leaving your 'baby' to the 'smarties' in some life situation? Ask yourself questions on these lines. Does it resonate?

I have an old dream dictionary book. In it it says deer's signify pride and nobility.

Under Wolf it says

"Dreaming of wolves may indicate we are being threatened by others. The dreamer may have cruel sadistic fantasies without taking responsibility for them."

You witnessed the wolves attacking the deer. Especially with the baby deer, you put the blame on yourself as you distracted the baby deer with your golden sweet fruit.

It may be that you are subconsciously blaming yourself for desires which are not acceptable to your pride?

Hello Bluejay

I agree with Love&Light and violet.

I suppose wolves can sometimes represent enemies, but I do not feel that is the case here. I think the wolves represent as aspect of yourself or a situation in your life that is out of control, wild, and threatens to devour your more peaceful, tame, innocent aspects or state of being (baby deer/pets). I think the ax-man is a manifestation of the same dream-wolf energy, representing a masculine aspect of self, or a person/situation in your life.

The scenes with the wolves suggest anxiety, guilt, conflict, and helplessness either within yourself or in your life. The ax-man could suggest that your vision is clouded, that you haven't properly assessed the threat, or simply that you are attracted to something which is possibly destructive. This could be internal or external. It is as if you cannot help yourself.

I tend to think this is internal stuff, inner conflict, but I can see how it could be a reflection of an external situation/conflict.

Where is the guilt coming from? The answer to that could point the way.
