Hi Everyone

The dream started off in my old primary school. It seemed like a cloudy miserable day it was still daytime but it seemed incredibly dull and eerie.I think I couldn't wait to get home.I was trying to avoid teachers there was something strange about the ones in my dream.I wanted to leave and go home so I flew home.I remember being in a house my grandfather used to live.I recognised the house and surroundings because I used to live in the same neighbourhood as well.
Anyway I remember hearing from the tv that Ayr In Scotland had been bombed.I don't really understand why I would have dream like that. The only explanation I can think of is that we used to visit my aunt in Scotland. When we got off the boat I think we used to drive down the Ayrshire cost as part of the journey to get to were she lived. My mum's side is from Scotland and her and my grandparent's and most of her brothers and sisters moved over to Northern Ireland during the 80's.I usually don't dream about Scotland at all.Do you think this dream is unusual Ra ? Apart from my mother and her side being Scottish I can't think of any other reason I would have a dream like that.

Thanks

Hello Panthera Leo

Unusual? That seems to be the very nature of most dreams, don't you think? Not unusual at all, we just have to get an idea of what it means.

The dream could suggest that you are seeking freedom from (flew home) some past (primary school) emotional stuff (cloudy, miserable day), probably stuff you are aware of (daytime) rather than something hidden in your sub/unconscious. This may be stuff that you "learned" or were "programmed" with when you were young (teachers) and are now seeking to avoid (avoid teachers). Maybe the dream is suggesting that the emotional stuff you are dealing with has its roots with your family (family roots in Scotland) and perhaps a change is occurring (bombed) in your psyche/mind as to how you are dealing with it or handling it.

I'm not really sure about this, but these are some ideas.

What do you think?

Hi Ra and Thanks Again

I suppose you are right about most dreams being unusual. I think everything you have said makes sense.Certain family members of mine are growing apart from each other so your probably right about the emotional stuff being about family and the change occurring in my mind.

I think I probably just didn't analyse the dream properly.I did think that it could have been about family troubles but I can't really explain why but for some reason the dream felt slighty sinister. It was like the quality and graphics of the dream were sort of dark. Even the people and surroundings were sort shadowy it was like a badly drawn cartoon. The day that I had the dream I was feeling a bit sick.I am prone to having migraines but that day I had a headache and felt a little bit sick. I don't think I was having a migraine though.I know that the very front of my head was sore.So I tried to sleep it off.It Will sound silly but I also did wonder if something was trying to draw my attention to Ayr in Scotland.
