Welll the dream started out light and airy. The mood was relaxed and carefree as me and my little sister cruised along the streets of a hilly, busy city. We were driving on a bridge and when we came off the bridge and started ascending up the hill i noticed the brakes were kind of weak. As we started to proceed down the hill the car quickly picked up speed and my little sister who was driving at the time couldn't break. (I must mention that my little sister is only 7 years old and that's how old she was in thee dream.) I quickly jumped in the driver's seat without causing much panic and I stayed that way until we were finally able to stop. I woke up strangely startled and a little scared to drive. .-. Thanks for your input.

Is there some responsibility on the shoulders of your little sister? Do you feel she needs you so that things won't get out of control? Do you have any fears regarding having to watch over her?

No. She has no responsibilities that most other her age wouldn't have. I sometimes think that but she can handle most things by herself. I think I do. .-. I'm not her primary caregiver that's her parents (our dad and her mom) but I do watch her and my little brother for a little while sometimes. I think I'm afraid that they'll get all crazy and I won't be able to stop it.

Thanks Ayelet for your feedback.

Please read it as an opinion:
You are contemplating about your relationship with your sister. The hill represents the up and downs in the relationship. On your way down you did help your sister and did take control of your life again. You came to a similar conclusion:

General description:
Dreams of driving a car or the car itself are symbols for the thrill of freedom, independence, energy, drive and potency. Dream scenario with cars often handle the way the dreamer on the mental or emotional level deal with themselves. A car is often for personal space, for the extension of the being of the dreamer. If you drive in a dream car, so calls this personal drive into consciousness. The car is assimilated in the dream psychology with motor power. Many anxiety dreams - you run over someone, the brakes do not work - are related to the automobile - they prove that we should change our lifestyle to suffer any losses. The car is an individual transport in the dream as in reality.

Is a passenger in a car it usually announces that one may expect assistance from the outside in a matter that is already under way - maybe it is but this also pointed to an excessive influence and heteronomy through others that one should degrade? Sometimes the dreamer wants to transfer only the responsibility for his life to another person.

Even a car driver indicates that the dreamer determine having an affair in the handle and it will bring to a successful conclusion - in part one - but that will also be asked to develop more activities to change lives and to pursue new goals. Steering of a vehicle can be associated with the direction and the target.

The brakes are the symbol of oppressive, claustrophobic living conditions and partner relationships as well as concerns and inhibitions that prevent the dreaming on the development of his personality. Sometimes it warns the braking process even before rash actions, hasty decisions and recklessness. It would be important if you could remember who or what was the brake reason - it could conclude what one should really stop and dodge.

Hmm the opinion makes for sense to me than the general description. I am not sure how it represents our relationship though? /.\

Thanks for your feedback GeminiKarat!

I know. It is very difficult for me as well to bring the general meaning of a dream symbol into the specific dream. A relationship can be an interaction of two people and I did highlight we in your dream. This is my personal reason, why it is the relationship between your sister and you.

Hello Debby

The dream suggests that a change/transition has occurred or is occurring (cross bridge) in your life, a change from the normal/status quo (city streets before the bridge) to something more difficult or challenging (going uphill) and perhaps disconcerting (notice weak brakes). This may be something you are concerned is moving too quickly (picks up speed) and could get out of control (couldn't break/you are not driving). Your little sister could represent herself as a part of this waking life situation, or she could represent an aspect of yourself that is not ready or unprepared/ill-equipped to handle it. Either way, the dream reflects your need, and your ability, to take control (jump in driver's seat) before control is completely lost.

What is going on?

Thanks GeminiKarat for clearing that up I makes sense now.

Hi Ra! Thank you for looking into for me c:

I just (well a few months ago) I moved from Texas to Washington to live with my Dad and go to school. It makes sense because I wwnt from being the youngest and getting told what to do to being the oldest telling people what to do. It's weird. D; also I think I was just thinking about tge real hilly streets up here... they're scary :c

I'm not sure what's going on. .-. I do think my little sister represents both herself and me. She kind of looks like me when I was younger. Hehe
