Where my stairs are in my actual house I/we realised there was a door underneath. It slightly opened but then went down some steps and I was so excited by this. It opened into a big room and I thought I had a place I could make into a studio space for painting.

But then gradually there were less walls. It was a long space and revealed itself as being a mix of a platform of a train station but with the stillness of a canal bank. The walls were sometimes there or not but even with walls I thought I'd not be able to paint there as I'd be scAred of spiders.

My mum was with me throughout this and she was not impressed by this huge space. Or my idea what to do with it.

This seems fairly self explanatory. But any thoughts?

I would take a guess and say that you might be trying to find ways to find freedom for yourself.I think this because you said you had made a discovery of a door you didn't know about.You also mentioned that that the walls started to disappear when you got down there.Maybe there was an underground station in your dreams because you might wish to travel and go somewhere else.I assume you are an artist so maybe you were thinking your art and talent could be your meal ticket or train ticket out of your situation.Maybe the spiders could represent a fear of being trapped like a fly in web.They could also represent a fear of following or chasing your dreams.Like a spider we can all help change our fates to some degree we are like spiders that are spinning our webs.Thinking about spiders reminds me of something I read when I was looking at a totem animal site which seems fitting.It was something like "The web we weave today is the one we will live in tomorrow"
I assume your mother doesn't appreciate your talent or dreams or ambitions and is maybe pouring cold water over them.Perhaps your friends are there to encourage you to find people who do appreciate and support your talent or can be helpful to you.I think maybe Jude Law might represent your desire to become successful.

I hope I haven't jumped to to many conclusions in my reply.All I have said are only my thoughts and may not be correct so they should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Oh wow, you really have picked up a lot and at the same time given me a new perspective. I was thinking it was finding art is not meant for me which I've been worried about or that I feel that way on an unknown level. But I like that I can see it as a way out subconsciously and the spiders might be fear of success.

There's other things too which your interpretation helps me reframe more positively.

I feel soooo trapped. That's true. I can't understate that in anyway.

Can't remember the Jude law story - lots of strange drama between people though. I'm thinking his name too as adding a g makes judge law and that fits with my recent thoughts.

I am unsure of your circumstances so I couldn't really offer much advise and I am not really that good at organising my own life which is a bit of a disaster lol.
You would be the best person to know what to do with your life.I would say to try to remain optimistic but at the same time be realistic and hopefully you will make the right decisions and get wherever you want to go.

No but I do feel judged and I can be judgemental, think about what's fair a lot recently

I was working as an artist but became overwhelmed, so many different projects I didn't know which to pursue and didn't have much confidence to put work out regularly so took a step back. It's what I love and think I can do well in if only I didn't feel insecure and lost.

I thought the dream might mean I found what I wanted to do but realised I can't or don't want to unconsciously. But now Thinking I need stability and movement but also belief.

Oh yes could be because the fear of spiders suddenly appeared around the same time my mum didn't seem too impressed and also the more they (fears) appeared the less she was speaking, seemed to fade out like that role was taken over. It was like her criticisms through the spiders became mine.

That is true. Sometimes you only need to think about them in a dream and you have the same reaction as they would really exist.
