I had a dream that I threw a huge Christmas party at my house. It seemed as though everyone I had ever met came to the party, in addition to a handful of strangers and celebrities (Stella McCartney and Julia Roberts, to be specific).

Stella complimented me on my outfit and said that it looked like I worked for an airline. Naturally, I geeked out with excitement once she went inside the house. When I saw Julia, I shouted, "Julia Roberts?! Hi!" She flashed her famous grin and said something like, "Hi David! I love your work!"

My dream self thought that I was a good host, waiting at the door to greet everyone. There was a guest named Margarite/Margueritte who called herself my "first mother." I was confused because I didn't recognize her, but figured that she was probably my first babysitter. She hadn't seen me in years, apparently, and made comments about the changes in my appearance.

After that, I found myself outside, alone, as if I wanted to get away from the party. I watched people converse in my driveway as I stood in an unlit area next to my house. A group of people walked up the street (including a man and his pet cheetah), and I panicked for some reason. When the cheetah saw me, I climbed up on a tiny fence to try and escape it, but it could tug at my leg with its mouth anyway. The cheetah's owner called the animal back, but it wanted to eat me. There was a sleeping black dog on the other side of the fence, so I gave it up to the cheetah to save my own life.

(I then had another dream, which seemed to happen immediately after I gave up the dog to the cheetah, but I won't get into that one because it's just as, if not, longer than the previous dream.)

---

Supposedly, the cheetah means that I have to get up out of my chair, get moving, and be more active in the pursuit of my goals; which makes total sense to me because I've been depressed, inactive, and unmotivated for a year and a half now.

The party probably represents my need for social interaction while the "escape" probably represents my social anxiety.

It's interesting that the two celebrities at the party were Stella McCartney (fashion designer) and Julia Roberts (actress) because I may go back to school for fashion design and/or acting within the next year or so. Even though I haven't made a decision yet, I feel like I'll do both no matter what.

---

Am I missing anything? Could there be a grander message here? Are there any answers in my dream to questions in my waking life? Why a Christmas party, and why so many people? Was the woman from a previous life? Could the cheetah be my spirit animal (I had a crazy experience with a cheetah at a zoo before)? Could the second dream be connected to the first dream since there was virtually no pause between them?

Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated! I can't wait to read your replies!

Your interpretation and connection is already very good.

Please read it as an additional opinion:
Christmas has a connection to the family. A harmonious Christmas refers to a pleasant family connection and often also to a longing for such an intact family. A Christmas party can mean that after a dark time it is getting light again. That means that it becomes easier and lighter after times of drudgery and suffering. A cheetah has in the positive as well as in the negative senses the meaning of the male driving force and aggression. He stands as a symbol for passion, vitality and feelings. An attacking cheetah can mean that an erroneously sedate trust will endanger a success that already moved in handy nearness. To climb on a fence can mean that success will crown the efforts. A black dog can be a symbol of the sub consciousness.
This dream indicates that barriers (=fence) can be handled and the happiness is ready to join (=Christmas party). The cheetah helps on this way.

Hi CupOfDavid. I agree with most of what GeminiKarat wrote. The party shows a happy time or a celebration. It seems you have a reason to be proud of yourself. I think the woman is from a previous life. Her appearance may suggest the closure of a cycle. The cheetah indeed shows male energy and aggression, also velocity and danger in your case, since it wants to eat you. You are giving the cheetah the sleeping dog instead. GeminiKarat interprets the dog as the subconsciousness, which I find interesting because the dog is, indeed, asleep. What sacrifice have you made in your waking life in order to survive?

Thank you for your insight, Gemini! I often question my future existence, but your interpretation has given me hope that better times are ahead.

Does that mean that someone, who I've readily trusted, may get in the way of a success that may already be underway?

I appreciate your words, Ayelet!

That's so interesting! It makes me wonder...

Would the sacrifice had to have been made recently? I was sexually abused...when I was a kid; however, I didn't believe that the abuse happened until March 2013. I've yet to delve deeply into the incident with a therapist, but I've been distant and cold with my family] for most of my life. I imagine that my younger self gave up warm, affectionate...relationships for the sake of my own well-being. (Carefully edited and now okay to quote. )

Yes, it does. According to your dream there are two things on your way. I replaced two words.
fear (=black dog) and strength (=cheetah)

You are welcome.
I wish you much light on your way!

I think the sacrifice in your dream may be related to this incident and to the sacrifice of your familial relationships. What pops up in your mind and resonates with the scene is probably the right answer. I wish you to work this out well with a good therapist and heal that wound.

I also think you were right about the connection you've made between the professions of the two celebrities and your own ambitions. This dream may, in this part, be used as encouragement.

Good luck and take care!

Thanks again for your insights!

Ayelet -- if you see this, could you remove the quoted text from your last post? I probably shouldn't have mentioned who sexually abused me. :/
