I mean deliberately. I've have had some success with lucid dreaming but I didn't have enough discipline to practice properly.
Do you have techniques to visit someone astrally or enter their dreams?(Just as in "hiii" - no sinister purposes lol)

I like the bridge version. You build a bridge that is built by honesty, truth colored in white with the permission to that person. Walk over the bridge and say: “Hi!” After that you can call that person in real life and ask: „What did you hear?

I like GeminiKarat's idea about asking permission, if only in spirit.

Lucid dreaming is a good place to start. If you already have success with this, then I suggest more practice and better discipline. The lucid dream can be a great springboard for launching into the Astral Realms.
