Topic: Dreaming of my headstone

I dreamt that I was looking at my headstone last night. It was laid flat on the floor, but embedded in the grass. The ground was wet from the pouring rain, and the sky was a faded blue.. The rain was still pouring down as I read what's written on the stone. I'm assuming it's mine because I can't quite remember what it said. This isn't in a graveyard, by the way. I'm standing in front of a tall, dark, house and looking down on the ground at this headstone.My father died many many years ago, but for some reason, I feel the headstone could have linking us together in some way? I felt his energy and I think the headstone was talking about him and us. I just can't remember for the life of me what the words said even though I remember reading it in the dream. I was crying whilst looking down at it. There was one single deep-red rose lying below the headstone as well. My eyes zoomed into this frame. The only thing I remember written on the headstone was "19xx - 2xxx" I can't for the life of me remember what else. The x's are in place for the years that I don't remember. Of course, there was "In loving memory..." but I feel that the headstone was mine, or in some way, related to me. I can see the sentence but now it's blurred since I am awake. In the same dream, as I walked away from the headstone, I found a car. Someone was parked in my driveway and when I went to tell the lady she had to move her car, she had an attitude with me. But I didn't want to fight. I was calm with her and let her have her attitude. I have no clue what this headstone dream means, but I feel there is some significance. Could anyone offer their opinion? Please read it as an opinion:
A headstone is associated with a monument or memento. A rose in a dream is associated with goodness, entirety or integration. The colour red in a dream can mean love.
This dream indicates that the love (=red) of the father (=headstone) can bring harmony (=rose) into life.

Hello goddessofthemoon  I think the headstone likely symbolizes a part of yourself that has been "dead"/buried/repressed for some time. The pouring rain and the faded blue sky emphasize the emotional energies connected with the crying and the part of yourself which has been repressed. The deep red rose symbolizes the deep love and remembrance of your father. In short, when your father died, so, too, did a part of yourself, which has been buried ever since. The lady in the car in your driveway could represent the aspect of yourself that has been blocking the expression of the buried aspect, the "attitude" which has kept emotion repressed, and with which you no longer "want to fight". Perhaps this dream is an indication that it is time to release the emotional energy, to stop fighting, that it is time to heal. What do you think?  IP: Logged | |
