I just had the most peculiar and frightening dream (for me, at least). I was watching a movie about myself, about my adult life, a movie a male friend of mine has made. I was coming to a restaurant with a female friend with whom I am currently not in touch due to a disagreement. We ordered something, but I spilled something and the waiter made me clean it (It was a gourmet restaurant). Then I saw that my friend was sitting at another table with a male friend of hers (I actually bumped into her sitting with some unknown to me male friend a couple of days ago). I don't remember how the scene went on from there. Then the film took a turn into the past.In reality (of the dream), my mom walked into the house, which I now recognise was my childhood's house. I asked her to see the film with me. It was on an older world. I was a child. I went with my parents (some other parents than the ones I have right now) into a farm. Now, this part of the movie was in English. Some boy who had a terrible skin disease (his face was grey with green spots on it) seduced me, the girl child in the film, to come with him. After we were gone, the woman of the farm told my in-the-film mom that "cousin George took her for a walk". My in-the-movie mom's eyes broadened as she knew there was no cousin George. Then the film goes back to me the child and this boy, who is now dumping me somewhere. I am swimming through some huge filthy puddle and he encourages me to do so. He is leaving me. He had his revenge. Some other, healthy kid had become contaminated with his disease and deserted. Now the narrator, in the form of the boy, turns to us, the viewers, and says the boy was bored with the girl and so dumped her, "like men tend to do".

Hello Ayelet

That is a peculiar dream. Do you feel it in any way relates to your waking-life childhood?

Hi Ayelet

Have you been feeling abandoned, used and taken for granted in real life.Is it possible someone left you and that you are only realising the pain or negative feelings the person or people caused you.Another thought I had was it possible that you have ever discarded another person or people in such a manner the way that boy discarded you.Do you have any guilt about the way you behaved towards others. If its possible you regret the way you treated someone badly perhaps you may feel guilt or realise how you were wrong or how others felt.

Hello Panthera Leo

I may have felt abandoned once, but not in my childhood, and it was mutual in a way. And I am also deeply sorry for the way I treated someone. Do you think that might be it? Thank you very nuch for your interpretation!

I suppose its possible this dream is about both the mutual parting of ways and the remorse you feel about the way you treated the other person you were talking about.I don't really think that it matters that in part of the dream you saw yourself as a child instead of an adult.I think that just because you saw yourself as a child it doesn't necessarily mean the feelings are from childhood.I think it is also possible the dream could be about current feelings in waking life.I think that dreams don't have to be logical or literal to get the point across and that even though they don't make sense sometimes they still manage to get the point across.Maybe you were just feeling a little bit nostalgic and didn't realise it.I think its amazing when the mind can bring the things that you think you have put behind you and forgotten about to the surface again.

Hi Panthera Leo. You are right. The dream does bring to the surface things I thought were behind me. And I think it may be that I was a child in this situation might signify innocence, or lost innocence.

GeminiKarat, I would appreciate your input as well, when you are less tired.

Thank you and good night to both of you..

This sounds like a good connection and reflection.

Please read it as an opinion:
This dream indicates the process of healing (=swimming) towards trust (=parents, friends) and to talk about it. Those things are behind, because you stayed healthy.

Thank you I am reading Sandman right now, it's about the god of dreams and it's dark, I don't think in reality it is. It would be nice to dream some beautiful dream... and then make it happen.
