I've had two dreams involving vomit recently. I'm curious to hear what others think they might mean.First dream started with me talking to my mom and my niece. They were saying mean things about a woman who had recently had an abortion. I got very offended and started yelling at them to not be so judgmental. In my dream, I had had an abortion myself, but my family didn't know about it. So I suppose I was feeling judged by them too. As I was yelling at them, I suddenly felt like I had to vomit. I ran outside and vomited cranberries. It was actually this cranberry salad that my mom makes during the holidays, but the cranberries were whole. It felt very freeing to vomit. I can't remember as many details about the second dream. All I remember is one of my dogs had vomited on the floor in my foyer, right beside the front door. I don't think I had much of a reaction. I think I was a little irritated knowing I would have to clean it up. Any thoughts? I've been trying to figure out what the cranberries might mean. There may be some significance to the fact that it was a cranberry salad my mom makes during the holidays. I figure it's probably a good sign that it felt so freeing to vomit. IP: Logged |

Please read it as an opinion:
It is definitely a good sign to feel free after vomiting. You do have a personal connection to that salad and I would take that connection in the first place. It is additional information to the situation with the abortion. I would tend to see it as a symbol of anything that is related to new topics and/or sensible topics.

Thanks, GeminiKarat! I wonder if the abortion could symbolize my divorce? Then maybe vomiting the cranberry salad could be like rejecting the domestic values of my mother, or something like that?IP: Logged |

Hello k8362  I think you are exactly right. The dream suggests that something has been "aborted" in your life and there is plenty of "judgement" revolving around it, to which you are particularly sensitive. There is emotional energy surrounding this issue that you need to purge/rid yourself of (vomit). It could be suggested that some of the emotional conflict is tied to your mother or to traditional, family values, thoughts, or judgements related to your mother/family (cranberry salad). Whatever it is, it will feel good to get rid of it, to be free of it.

Thanks so much! Now I'm wondering if I should just start a thread called "k8362's dreams that are initially very puzzling to her, but then all just end up leading back to her divorce and related emotions"? For the last several months, all the dreams I've remembered seem to be about either leaving my marriage, transformation, giving up control/having faith, or having patience.IP: Logged |
