Ok so, I keep having 3 recurring dreams for years now. I am usually pretty good at interpreting dreams but for some reason these three have me stumped. I was curious if anyone could help me understand any of them. I'll try and keep them short. The first one is about my grandmother's house. In real life, my grandmother has passed and her house was defiantly haunted. I have been having these dreams since she passed 7 years ago. In the dream, I am at her house and it's always scary and dark. In one dream, it is her house as it was in real life but then as I go to the second level of her house I see that her house expands out farther than I knew. I go into this hidden part of her house and I am walking down an hallway, it is eerie, I am scared it is quit old looking (like the 1800's) all the furniture is covered with white cloth. In that part of the house, there is a girl (I never actually see her) and I feel her presence and it is evil. As I get closer to the room where she is in, I always end up waking up. In another dream, I am at her house but now in the basement. It is dark and eerie. In the basement, there was an old 1950's restaurant that had been closed down for a long while. There was dust over everything and an old rusty toolbox on the counter. I remember I say in the dream that the basement was a sweatshop for children and again am uneasy from a girls presence that I cannot see. In the last one, I am at my grandmother's home the paint on her house outside was chipping off. Inside my grandmother was there she never spoke to me but she was setting the table. In the dream, I was happy yet sad. I repeated back to what my grandmother must of told me which was that I can see her once a year, every year for ten years, after 2018 I will never be able to see her again. That was how the dream ended. The other recurring dream I have been having is about my old job that I quit two years ago. I have been having it ever since I quit. In the dream, I ask my boss for my job back. I return to work for only one or two shifts, but I am never prepared (e.g. not wearing work uniform). When I am working I am not happy and thinking to myself “What am I doing here?”. I end up not returning back to work. Or another version of this dream is I am back at my old job, but it isn't the same type of a business as it was when I worked there in real life. It has the same staff I worked with in real life, though. In the dream, I am confused and feel like I am not important or wanted and that I get in the way. Every time I try and help out in the store I am in the way or I can't do the job correct. Again I usually end up leaving the job and never returning again. The last of the dreams is one where I am back in high school. I have been having this dream for about 5 years or so. In the dream, I drive myself to the school in my own car. In the dream, I feel myself confused that I am back in high school and that I haven't graduated yet. I always am able to go to my first class, but I never remember what class I am supposed to go to after the first class is over. I never am prepared and am aware that I haven't been to most of my classes in weeks. I find myself wondering around the hallways trying to figure out where I am supposed to be but never can. So I end up going home on the bus, only to realize that I drove myself there and need to get my car back. I then drive another car from my home back to my school to pick up my car only to run into the dilemma of how I am supposed to get the other car home now. I just end up leaving the second car in the parking lot. Then I always end up waking up.

Meatballzzzzzz, I hope someone here can help you interpret these three dreams. I do not feel that I can. I do have one question! When you are having the dream are you aware that you are dreaming. For example when you go back to the job but you are not in your work uniform does it occur to you, "This is a dream because I would not be here at work out of uniform." Just a thought. place a glass of water next to your bed, and if u have one A GLASS glass, so u can see the water. Drink half the glass just when ready to sleep and the other upon waking at the moments you normally reflect or recall any dreams. This is done to bring greater clarity in recall. When I see something really out of place in a dream, I often laugh realizing it is a dream. I have even awakened myself with the laughter. I prefer at that point not to wake but to then choose what I want to dream about! ------------------ --SWEET DREAMS IP: Logged |

I feel I am almost aware that I am. Like my conscious mind is trying to figure out if it's real or not and I think that why I am also thinking questions in my dream like "What am I doing here?" "I thought I quit." "Why would I come back here?" "I graduated years ago." etc. lol. However in the dream with my grandmothers house I am not aware of it all. I love when I can control my dreams, whenever something bad is about to happen I'm like nope and stop it, it's fun lol. Thank you, that's a good Idea I will try that tonight!

The old job and school dreams have the same theme. These dreams are likely triggered by anxiety in waking life. They recur when you are feeling lost, inadequate, insecure, overwhelmed, or when you lack self-confidence, or are feeling left behind. These dreams could also point to attitudes or aspects of self that are old, out of date, and which no longer serve you well … an area for growth/development. I think the dreams about your grandmother's house may be related to this theme as well, perhaps giving some clue as to the root of the anxieties, but I am not entirely certain just yet. Are you male or female? Did you spend significant time at your grandmother's house? At what age? What do you associate with her house? How was your relationship with her?

Dream 1 Please read it as an opinion: Those dreams indicates a secret on your grandmothers family side(=covered with white clothes). It may have somethings to do with the child(=woke up before I saw her, presence in the sweet shop). It could be that you will dream about the girl and see the secret behind it. That may relate to what your grandmother said.IP: Logged |

Dream 2 Please read it as an opinion: This dream indicates a journey to find the answer: “Why did I get fired?” I did not fit = wrong cloths, I am in the way I am unable to cope with the work = never prepared, I cannot do the job correctIP: Logged |

That all makes a lot of sense. Thinking about it now the last time I had the school dream I was feeling insecure and down in the dumps. I also have found myself in the last few years being lost. I am a female. I went to my grandma's house maybe 1 or 2 times a month for the first 17 years of my life. I don't have a close family sadly. We weren't very close but she was one of the very few family members I loved to see. I was always so excited to see her and my family spent all the holidays with her at her house. She made the holiday's enjoyable. Her home was haunted. It was built on a burial ground so I did hate being in or near the house. IP: Logged |

@GeminiKarat: Dream 1: I really think that could be possible. My grandmother was very secretive. She never talked about the past always the present. Makes me curious though, I have a ring that I wear all the time, it was my mothers stepdaughters and she died wearing it when she was 13 or 14 years old. I wonder if theres something more to the story about it then I know because my grandmother was very protective over it and getting into the hands of her other children but never told anyone why. I respected her wishes though. Dream 2: I wasn't fired from my last job, I quit it. However, my boss made me a lot of broken promises and was one of those people where you were darned if you do and darned if you don't. That left me feeling like I was not good enough. Dream 3: Yes, that makes sense. I have been feeling lost for the last few years now and have no sense of direction on where my life is going. IP: Logged |

It seems as you will dream about those secrets in the future. quote: Originally posted by Meatballzzzzzz: Dream 2: I wasn't fired from my last job, I quit it. That sound like a good connection to your dream! quote: Originally posted by Meatballzzzzzz: Dream 3: Yes, that makes sense. I have been feeling lost for the last few years now and have no sense of direction on where my life is going.
That resonates with me .I wish you all the best to find your way! IP: Logged |

I get the feeling that the girl presence in your Grandmother's house is an aspect of yourself. She could represent a part of yourself that "haunts" you, a part of you that you are not consciously aware of, that is undeveloped, immature, or otherwise ceased growing/maturing when you were young. She represents a darker aspect of yourself that you have ignored and which could be at the root of some of your anxiety/insecurity. Can you think of anything going on in your life at that age (the age of the little girl) that was "bad", difficult, or even traumatic? IP: Logged | |
