Hello!
My dream I am a little girl in a bleak landscape. I want to deal with father issues.
The little girl is the bright spot everything else is sort of in grimy twilight mode. An upright grizzly bear is with me.
I want to go into what I perceive as a structure. It is has alternating whitish and dark areas that sort of round off towards the top. Later I realize it is shaped like a skeletal rib cage if the skeleton was reclining but at the time I perceive it to be a building. The bear is urging me not to go in but I want to see what is inside.
Outside, away from the building, we pass between what I perceive is a raven on my left. The area behind the raven is a murky reddish color. On my right is an Eastern dragon og green gold and red.
We enter the structure which is dark and gloomy inside. There is various activity but nothing that stands out.
I am dressed in a dress and a bow in my hair. I feel safe because the upright grizzly is with me. There is like an alcove cave like room with beings that are ancient and who are "the ancient ones" of what I assume are part of my lineage and they have an "old way" they must share "through blood" which I assume has to do with DNA? They are almost desperate. If it doesn't get passed on their way could become extinct and they will stay always where they are. Their way has to do with dark magic and old power.
They are ugly to look at and corrupt. If they don't pass on their ways they will end. They and their knowledge or part in the bloodline are "corrupt". That is the word I get.
I want to understand but the grizzly covers my eyes with its front paws.
We turn in another direction and I see a shining gold coronet with what I assume are diamonds. It is in a fire where some creatures are hitting it with sticks or short poles like they are trying to burn it and destroy it.
It remains whole and beautiful.
The colors are mostly blood red in that area.
Grizzly takes me out if there and onto some plains. It is evening. Grizzly does silly things to distract me even, at one point, donning a silly hat and sitting in a silly pose. The bear lets other animals come around me.
There are fires and gatherings of Native American people around.
We are then in a sort of plaza and heyokas are dancing down the street towards us. They are masked or painted. One has a black line drawn exactly down the center of his face with a white stripe on the right of the black and a red stripe on the left. They surround an all blue mask-less dancer. I only get glimpses of him but know he is a portend.
Again on the plains under the stars I sit away from a fire and gathering. They are at a but of a distance but I can discern the figures of people and the hear the songs and noise.
I have changed from the little girl to a young native american boy. My dog or wolf is near me. The grizzly is still with me as well behind me. The stars are bright and many.
Ok-who are they who need to pass their way on through the blood?
What is that beautiful crown/coronet in the fire. It seems indestructible not so much because of how it's made but because of what it IS (represents).
Why does grizzly cover my eyes?
Why does grizzly do so much to distrac t and entertain me?
Who was or what does the unmasked blue dancer represent?
What's the raven and dragon and why did I start out as a little girl and end up a boy?

Thanks for any interpretation and enlightenment.

Hello tuxedo meow

I'll be back with some thoughts later.

Do you have any feelings at all about the last question you asked? Why from little girl to boy? Do you think this is somehow related to your father?

So, there are some strong energies circulating through this dream. I'm glad you asked questions because I wouldn't know how to start otherwise. I am going to assume this is about "father issues", as you prefaced the dream.

Ok-who are they who need to pass their way on through the blood?
Would it make sense to think this is about your father's lineage?

What is that beautiful crown/coronet in the fire. It seems indestructible not so much because of how it's made but because of what it IS (represents).
This symbolizes your crown chakra, your higher self, your soul energy. Indestructible indeed.

Why does grizzly cover my eyes?
Protection from painful knowledge or "corrupt" influences. The grizzly represents a protective energy - a totem, guide, or possibly even your mother.

Why does grizzly do so much to distract and entertain me?
Again, protection from the knowledge/understanding you seek.

Who was or what does the unmasked blue dancer represent?
Deity, spiritual energy, intuition. I'm not really sure, but it is something along those lines. As a dancer, it also suggests balance and healing.

What's the raven and dragon and why did I start out as a little girl and end up a boy?
The raven represents the shadow side. The dragon is a guardian and protector of the psyche and hidden knowledge. It can also represent wisdom and self-development. Turning from little girl to boy is difficult for me to put a finger on. Most obviously, it has to do with change/transformation. It also has something to do with seeking balance (feminine/masculine) and with developing aspects of self (girl/boy), which is no doubt related to your quest in dealing with father issues. I feel like there is more to this symbolism, maybe past-life stuff or something, but I can't quite grasp it.

What do you think?

Where does this leave us in trying to understand this dream?

Ra thank you so much so far.

I think maybe the boy is a past life.
Many dreams of being a Native American warrior. Vignettes of crouching next to my horse at night under the stars. Also of being part of a healing lodge with other Native Americans.

The grizzly bear came in other healing journeys and I feel protected by it. I do not think it is my mother but maybe an ideal mother. In one of my first journey dreams I was taken to a cave of bears that was ancient and the bears and some people dressed as bears were there. Grizzly on two feet protected the cave and a healing process began.

It was intense.

Sometimes my phone does not get a signal mostly. Then I have to go to library to use their computers. Sorry when my responses are delayed.

No apologies. My responses are often much more delayed than yours!

So, assuming this dream is a response to the wish to "deal with father issues", your protector and guide (the grizzly) takes you straight to the "heart" of the matter (into ribcage-like structure), which leads into the dark, secretive, unknown realm of the unconscious (cave-like room). Here, you find ancient energies reaching out from the past.

I think the dream indicates that the issues with your father originate in another time, in another life. It may be a complex karmic entanglement for which some transformation, self-development, or initiation is needed for a greater level of understanding. Or perhaps it is through such a karmic entanglement and the pursuit of its resolution that initiation/transformation is being made possible.

I think the dream also points out that you have earned the guidance of these Native American energies/totems through past life experience and initiations, and your "father issues" may be a part of those very experiences.

I believe there will be more to come on this issue and process.

Powerful stuff.
