I think I woke up from this about 2 AM and almost came here instead of going back to sleep, but I didn't manage it...and thus forget the details.

What I do recall is that I was part of a crew exploring another star system, just as many others had been explored before so that our job seemed routine.

The planet were exploring was perfect for colonization, save for one thing...solar flares were dangerous enough to actually start fires. But examination showed that this apparently started up after initial colonization began, and furthermore, that all of them, without exception, were directed at colonists.

This includes the moon in which explorers reported finding green eggs (and showed tridfeed) before the cave they were in collapsed, and then another solar flare hit those left on the moon.

We were intrigued, what were a pile of green eggs doing on the seemingly lifeless moon? And what were they eggs OF?

And as another expedition went the moon broke orbit and fled to the outer system!

It's when I said, "The moon is alive and protecting her eggs. And the star is alive and trying to get rid of us, invaders in its system!" (I didn't get the impression the star is what created the eggs of the moon and the star didn't seem to care if it cooked the eggs or not.)

That seemed impossible, and yet so was what we were seeing. And that's all I can clearly recall. I do recall wondering if the world we were on was sentient or not, there was no sign that the planet was, but maybe that planet was just more friendly to us.

Please read it as an opinion:
The moon in a dream can be associated with a mother, an egg in a dream with the words: potential, birth, hope. The color green could give an indication of growth.
This dream indicates the reprocessing of parenthood with a mother (=moon, eggs) on the one side and a father on the other side(=solar fire).

Hello PixieJane

Very interesting dream.

I am uncertain how to approach this dream. GeminiKarat has brought forward one direction in which I was thinking, and another involves possible astrological significance. Have you been "exploring" an astrological concept or "system" that is alien/unknown/different to you? If so, I may be of little help. If not, then I would tend to think in GeminiKarat's direction.

What do you think?

I wish I remembered more.

I am examining a new topic that is disturbing to me and could, conceivably, be represented by the dream. It's too long to explain, so I'll just say there lately I've been thinking of someone I saw as like an "honorary mother" who was a mentor to me, and who expanded my horizons by a lot. I first met her when I was a runaway and she gave me a place to stay as well as turning my life around (and perhaps represented by the fertile planet ripe for colonization as well as all the wonderful and esoteric things she introduced me to, including books by Linda Goodman). That was long ago, but a few years ago her personality radically shifted in a way that is both bizarre and frightening.

Suffice to say that the solar flares could be her lashing out at me, or it could be the man who seemed to have changed her (and I'm wondering if he changed as well since I gathered he was suddenly kicked out and divorced by a previous wife of decades and his family had little to nothing to do with him) who made her give up all her friends (even get rid of her beloved dog, which she'd have NEVER done, it's simply impossible, but it happened). The moon with the green eggs could be a mix of how she went from being an important person in my life to a distant memory, and the eggs either what she inspired in me from long ago or the disturbing idea I've been coming up with to explain what happened, which includes a paranormal and astral element (especially as she used to open herself to the astral a lot for divination). Perhaps astral = astronomical in the dream. And as the man didn't give a damn about her dog and such, maybe that was represented in the dream as well by the sun not caring about the eggs.
