I had a nightmare. I dreamt I was sleeping in a dark room, which thing I was doing. Something evil was coming toward me. I tried to shout so I would wake up. I then imagined that I succeded in getting up and going to turn the lights on. But then I didn't succeed and found myself in bed again, as if I've never woke up. A big stone then hit me in the head. I made efforts to cry out several times so I would wake up, and eventually succeeded in waking myself up.
what do you think it means? Thank you for the reply.

Edit: I just recalled there was a mosquito flying and buzzing near my ear in the dream, and it happened again now...

Please read it as an opinion:
The head in a dream can symbolize the intellect, understanding and therefore the father as well. To turn on the light can be seen as a symbol of enlightenment. A mosquito in a dream can indicate unsolved obstacles.
This dream indicates an obstacle (=mosquito) that wants to have attention (=ear, stone, light).According to the dream it could be the direction of to the intellect(=head).

Thank you for responding, GeminiKarat!

It may be that the head (=intelect) is an obstacle to enlightenment. Either that or the head is hurt by the stone, and I can't turn on the light. I have dreamt a lot of a similar situation, being in my apartment in darkness, trying to turn on the light unsuccessfuly. I am like a ghost in my apartment in these dreams, my fingers cannot affect the switch. But in this dream I was really scared. I tried to wake myself up, meaning I knew I was captured inside of a dream. The former dreams were unpleasant at most.

You are welcome!
Sometimes it happens to me as well that the intellect is an awful guidance. In those cases I always try to focus on my heart. That is an amazing muscle after all .

I wish you all the best to find your way!

I've been meaning to comment on this ...

If I were to assign some meaning, I would say that something is "bugging" you and your subconscious is trying to "wake you up", "open your eyes", or otherwise get your attention so that a new "light"/understanding may be shed upon it.

However, I am more inclined to think that this is a description of being temporarily "stuck" between being asleep and being awake. We are usually not consciously aware during this transition, but when we are, the experience can be strange and often scary, very much as you described.

When you got up to turn on the lights, that was very likely your astral body trying to do what your physical body could not at that moment, but what your mind demanded.

Have you ever had an out-of-body experience? I believe that is what happened.

What do you think?

Thank you Ra! I had many out of the body experiences, but not any that I recall in the last couple of years. It could be that this was one of these out-of-body experiences. The ones I used to have, mostly in my teens, were much more vivid. But there was a feeling of being trapped in that dream, and I knew I was asleep and tried to wake myself, so this makes sense.
