Topic: Vent Crawling And Different Homes

So this is something that has been just a part of a cluster of dreams, and this segment of it has been recurring through the years.I can't remember how far back it goes, but can say only in young adulthood.I'm unable to remember details, just big picture, forgive me. The first of this dream I was with my sister, we were living at home and I would assume it was an older bigger home we lived in. Anyways, somehow we ended up climbing up into this attic entry...like the small square ones above a closet. It actually led to this vent type of path that we followed until we met the end which was almost like an old fashioned elevator lift but with a frame of a heat vent(you could see out of the vent but you couldn't be seen from the inside..because people weren't looking or just couldn't see? idk) Well as we pulled ourselves up each level we would see into other people's apartments, observe for a little bit and move on to the next. The next part, idk if it was when we got to the last "stop" or if it was just something we didn't notice...but there was this small crack opening in the wall and we both slipped through it. There was a small spiral stairway that led to a creepy kind of attic. It looked like someone lived there. After we found that, we would always sneak back up there to dig around. Last night the dream was a little different. I was alone and I only observed some of the apartments you could see on the elevator shaft thingy. I felt like it would be worth getting any kind of insight since it's been a dream that I've had in the past multiple times.I have no idea what this means, if anything. Please read it as an opinion:
An elevator in a dream can symbolize that somethings wants to come to the surface. A House/room/apartment can be seen as the various types of memories/personalities of the dreamer.The frame of a heat vent can be interpreted as a symbol of a self- settled , but not rigid , inflexible personality that can evolve yet.
This dream indicates the development (=elevator, apartments,dig) of the personality(=heat vent,attic).IP: Logged |

Hello etherealsaturn  I agree with GeminiKarat, but would like to expand on it a bit, especially since this is a recurring dream from some time ago. Watching the actions of others is a very passive activity ... are you a passive person by nature in waking life? These people likely represent aspects of yourself, and their actions/activities may reflect things about yourself that need to be recognized. Watching them in secret could suggest issues with insecurity, shyness, or a reluctance to reveal certain aspects of yourself, perhaps even a longing to do so, but fear to do it. Can you recall any actions/activities of those you are watching? Does anything change about the people or their actions the farther you move up? How do you feel as you are watching them? Houses often represent ourselves, and in this sense the attic can represent an aspect of the mind. It is a storehouse for that which defines us ... ideas, emotions, attitudes, memories ... some unused or neglected, some forgotten, some preserved, some secret, some like treasures to be discovered.
