In real life I have a black and white cat who is an indoor/outdoor cat who hunts and brings a victim home now and again.
In the dream I am sitting on the side porch of my home with my feet dangling about 12 inches from the ground. Beneath my left foot is a glossy black bird, injured, on its back moving its wings like it's trying to flip over.
My cat comes from the right carrying a small racoon and drops it near my right foot. the raccoon maybe has a spinal injury because, while it seems not able to right itself to escape. It also is lying face up and has its mouth open teeth exposed to defend itself.
My cat is out of the way of harm.
The birds wing feathers are near enough that as the bird moves its wing the outer feather tips brush the raccoons' open mouth.
The raccoon bites down on maybe an inch of the wings feathers which slide through the teeth.
I am concerned these animals esp the raccoon could bite my foot and I am not quite limber enough to get out of the position I am in quickly.
In real life I consider my cat as an ally. In the dream the cat seems smugly proud of what it has done.
Any interpretations? Thank you.

Hi tuxedo meow

I wonder if if the bird represents someone who lies, gossips, spreads rumours or slanders you.

Raccoons to me seem to be mischievous.
Perhaps the raccoon was a trickster or thief.

I wonder if there are people in your life like the bird and raccoon.I think in the dream your cat may have done you a favour by getting rid of them.

I have a similar opinion as Panthera Leo.

Please read it as an opinion:
A cat in a dream can stand for the subconsciousness. A raccoon in a dream can be seen as a false person. A bird is associated with freedom, escape and exemption from the weight of the physical.
This dream indicates that the subconsciousness is safe(=cat is out of the way of harm) and a chance to be free(=only an inch) from a person(=raccoon).

i saw the cat as doing me a service and the raccoon as some mischief maker trying to hurt my reputation or take something from me and the bird's plans were also stifled! thank you two!

Hello tuxedo meow

I like the direction of these thoughts.

A cat can also represent feminine instinctual energies, such as intuition (which is related to the subconscious GeminiKarat mentioned).

Maybe your intuition will keep the aforementioned negative energies from doing anything more than causing some fleeting concern. Pay attention to the intuition.
