Hi,I've always had snake dreams (nightmares). Ever since I was a little girl. I read all sorts of interpretations online. Some make sense. Some not so much. The dreams vary greatly in content. But one is recurring - the most frequent. What do they mean, acc. to you guys? IP: Logged |

On a general base a snake in a dream can be seen as various symbols e.g. life-death, emotions, transformations. Sometimes a snake gives a hint where the life energy flows.IP: Logged |

Hello Elysia Yes, snakes have an abundance of meanings, and it very much depends upon the context of the snakes in your dreams, and what you associate with them. What do you associate with snakes? How do you feel about them? What is the recurring dream? IP: Logged |

For me snakes mean evil. They are always trying to bite me or hurt me.IP: Logged |

Hello, Ra.. thanks for replying The recurring one goes like this.. I'm standing in a small, squarish room. With no windows. I'm on a block of wood, in the corner. And the whole floor is covered in snakes, three or four deep. Black, writhing snakes. Slithering onto each other. The door is at the diagonally opposite corner. And I desperately want to get there. But, I'll have to cross this sea of snakes. So I just stand on that block of wood, paralysed. Some try to snap at my feet, and I withdraw further. But I'm up against the wall and there's nowhere left to go. In most dreams the snakes are menacing. They chase, sometimes they bite. But in some they are friendly. Trying to send a message that I can't understand. Personally, I am fascinated by/frightened of snakes (perhaps because of the dreams, or independently of them). I'm a discovery channel nut, so the fascination part goes for most animals. I've had these dreams since i was five. But, curiously enough. Despite all the nightmares, I don't see snakes as inherently evil. Cunning and sly, maybe. But don't we all have a dark side? IP: Logged |

But your dark side doesn't survive death and that's exactly what your soul is trying to communicate to you by making you feel trapped. IP: Logged |

Please read it as an opinion: You have a very interesting dream. I would rather say it is a symbol of the esculap-serpent. I guess the new word is the kundalini-serpent. Something of the subconsciousness(=black) wants to be healed(=snake) and awake(=feet, door). Source I wish you all the best on your further research!

Thanks a bunch, GeminiKarat! Yes, I have been struggling for years to deal with certain things - I just keep pushing them deeper inside. Maybe that's part of the message, like you said. That they need to be healed. I'll go study the Kundalini and associated symbolisms. Thanks for suggesting this path. IP: Logged |

That's good stuff.Yes, the things you are pushing inside need to be healed. The dream suggests that you are trapped by them in a way, unable to move. Not being able to get to the door represents an inability to transition/change. You are stuck. A study of the Kundalini and chakras might serve you well. Good luck! IP: Logged |

Forgiveness. Truly forgive. Forgive yourself and/or others. Think about it, meditate on it, and come to a place where you can FORGIVE. IP: Logged |

Thank you, Ra. It really is harder to forgive oneself than others. I am only human, though. Have to accept that. Will meditate on it. *zen pose* Btw, do you have any Scorp/Pisces in you? I feel that kind of vibe. IP: Logged |

It doesn't matter what the past was, all that matters is that you learned from it and attempt to heal it and grow. Everyone is unique and has mistakes and pain and finds it hard to forgive themselves. But you can. What I mean by your dark side doesn't survive death is that the dark side is manifested from the opposite of love. And all that isn't love doesn't survive death. That's why when a human dies their body is left behind but their soul leaves. Most people do not unite their body with love/soul, otherwise their bodies wouldn't fail and die. As Jesus demonstrated. Its like your body is incapable of living any longer and gives up because of living opposite form its creator/sustainer. And to know real love you must know thyself. IP: Logged |

It has been a long time since I had interest in my chart, so I do not remember about any particular influences. All I can tell you at the moment is that I'm Libra with Leo rising.

I was actually about to make a post about black snake dreams. been having it frequently and i believe its always the same black snake.in the first dream, everyone was afraid of him. I was only freaked out because my family were. I like snakes and their loner behavior so have an affinity for them. the 4th black snake dream, i dreamt a snake playing around in my bed. and i enjoyed it. as if he was a dog. Alll i did was laugh and giggle lolols. turns out, it was international snake day. what are the odds. I've learned to love the black snake but still do not understand what it would mean spiritually, etc IP: Logged |

I was once told that a snake in your dream could mean that someone is gossiping about you negatively. I remember having a dream of a snake one time, and a few days later a friend of mine betrayed me big time. Then again I've had dreams of snakes before and since and I didn't have anything bad happen, so I'm not 100% sure.IP: Logged |

@bonsai,Hmm... Friends betraying me - happens to me all the freakin' time. But I highly doubt that was the case when I was all of four or five years old. And hadn't even seen a snake on TV, much less real life. Maybe it's some past life thing (that's what I've been thinking because of some of the dreams). They can mean different things to different people. In your context, though - yeah, a snake is also sometimes associated with treachery. I forget what the idiom is, but isn't there an idiom/phrase for this? @furrybunny: You have a dream snake-friend. Interesting, though. Following the trajectory of those dreams - one would think you had some issues that were plaguing you, but you tackled them successfully (the last friendly snake?). Or maybe this one just visited 'coz he heard about your affinity for snakes. IP: Logged |
