I had a dream that I just woke up from that I can't shake off. The main two things I dreamed about have been arguments and receiving a decoration at the end of the dream. The background was at my work place, though it looked differently and apparently in my dream I was kind of p^ssed off about several things and not shy about saying it out loud. These are things that bother me in my wake life, life unfairness, being interrupted, selfishness, carelessness etc. I was arguing with other doctors about patient treatments and at some point some professor overheard me and later scolded me for being belligerent. This is someone I don't quite like in real life, but don't have much contact with; it's also a person who's recently prejudiced my clinic and who doesn't engage in open confrontation. Apparently I wasn't the only one disturbed by what was happening, I also saw my boss and other doctors taking my side with the people I was arguing with. It surprised me because it felt like I cannot contain my verbal aggressiveness. Usually in my waking life, despite a desire to respond more sharply, I try to be more diplomatic.

At a different time during the dream, I was talking with a colleague and telling her something important about a case and another doctor who doesn't work with us came in and interrupted me and addressed my colleague. I quickly told him he was interrupting and it was rude, but he didn't seem affected. I cursed him, which is something I may say in my head but not out loud lol. Well, maybe only when I'm driving lol.

There was a lot of food on the tables at some point and some people came and just started eating even though the food was not for them. I told them that, and that the people for whom it was intended might not get any. Again, they didn't seem to care and it made me even angrier.

Towards the end of the dream I learned that the hospital manager will be giving us decorations for our work during a recent event (happened in real life). By then I felt better and waited in line with my colleagues to receive the decorations. They were given by another man, but I think the manager was present. I received mine and when he was pinning it to someone else's chest my attention was drawn to this man's ears. I knew he had a piercing, but I took a closer look. It wasn't metallic, it was cloth, in the colors of our national flag and placed through his ear like a ribbon. I also noticed it was infected and in my head felt sorry for him for doing that to his ears. This last part confuses me lol.

Everything that I dreamed, minus the infected piercing part, happened in real life at some point or another. It is one of my most realistic dreams. There has been a club fire where I live with many injured, which were taken into our hospital. It became a national drama and even the government got changed in the process. We were under a lot of strain and yes, arguing with one another at some point, because we were tired and pressured by all sides. Also, lately it seemed that people who had little contribution in the rescue effort got rewards and recognition. I guess maybe a part of me felt like my efforts were not fully appreciated, even though I have received recognition for other things, but I'm upset and I'm bothered by the hypocrisy and opportunism of the people around me. In my dream I was arguing with these people, precisely, but for other reasons.

And just to show you the irony of it all, when I woke up from my dream I checked my phone and saw an email from my professional association, received a few hours earlier. Each one of my colleagues will receive an award for the work we've done during the club fire event, which will be given to us in January.
