Hey, I thought I'd share this that I saw today: http://youtu.be/nVWabBkHPJY?t=4m59s It's a little over a minute long from there (to about 6:10) that briefly talks about Buffy as metaphor, and also a dream Buffy has in a certain episode and its significance. I found it particularly interesting because I've dreamed of Giles quite a bit, and sometimes he's my father. I recall one dream in which I was a kid again and there was a terrorist attack at my school (in which my mom took part in the attack). After which parents were called and I was telling my real life dad what my mom was doing when Giles drove up and said goodbye to Dad...because it was time to go home with Giles, my real father! Please read it as an opinion: The father in a dream is a symbol of traditional order and natural authority. The archetypal representatives of the rational, function of the active consciousness and will. The father in the dream is usually the mediator bound to the understanding of life content, but also member of the Traditional. This dream indicates the change(=kid, school) of the own order and authority(=real father – Giles). Edit: IP: Logged |
