I was at the house of a friend from an art highschool. I loved her very much back then but there appeared a torn between us (since I never came to ber house). We were sitting on her bed side by side in front of the tv and I was exposing something really personal to her, my emotions. She didn't really want to listen, and paid attention to the tv. I said, offended: "if you wanted to watch the movie instead of talking, you should have said so. You know I love movies." So I started watching the movie too, and it was about a genius who was a professional manager of a dancers' band and who made them work very hard. The next day I am a ballerina who goes to work after a couple of days of recess. There were building works in the theatre and we dancers got hurt medically by inhaling glass, so we took some days off. I got late to the theatre, at about 2:00 p.m. I was the prima ballerina at "The Nutcracker". Since I was late, they replaced me at the show, which was already at its midst, and which I could see on a plasma screen outside of where it took place. I went downstairs and met the professional manager, who told me I could prepare myself for the next show, but if I didn't dance well he would give me a couple of days off as sick. I got nervous since I didn't dance for a couple of days and didn't practice or even had a warm up, so I didn't know if I would dance well. But I felt the muscles of my legs and it kind of reassured me. I went to the toilet. Then to the office. I had to arrange some things. Then I thought: I came with my glasses, and didn't bring contacts. I can't dance with glasses, as it won't look pretty (by the way, I don't wear contacts in years). So I went to the big boss. Why aren't you dressed up for the show? He asked me. I told him there was no point, since I didn't bring my contacts. But he didn't accept this excuse. Apparently he saw nothing wrong with a ballerina wearing glasses. So I started complaining about stuff not being directed well in the band. I said the ballerina who replaced me had a double chin, and in order to cover it they put maskintape on her neck and I said that was ridiculous. The boss told me to sit and write down all my complaints against the professional manager, who's name was Walter. So I wrote "Walter this" and "Walter that"... but I forgot to put it inside the computer at the office. When I got home I told my mom I had forgotten that (Of course I don't live with my mom these days, but in the dream I was living with her in my teen's house). She told me I could type it in the computer and print it, or even mail it to my mail and save it at the office's computer next where I arrive there. I've realised Walter, my professional manager, was the genius manager from the movie. Complaining about him has saved me from getting fired.

What do you think could be the meaning of this dream?

May I ask:
Do you have a personal connection to Tschaikowski or the "The Nutcracker".

Not really. Tchaikowski is a great composer and "The Nutcracker" is a lovely story, but other than that... no.

Thank you very much for the information!

Please read it as an opinion:
A TV in a dream is associated with image or story of reality and leads to the question: What is my story? What do I want to observe?
Ballet in a dream can stand for discipline and performance, but also for compulsion and drills. It is a sign of the willingness to classify, or signs of the internal defenses. If the dreamer sees a ballet performance in the dream, it indicates that it can certainly be a great advantage to let the spontaneous feelings run free in situations that are to come in the near future.

This dream can indicate some corrections(=glasses) in connections (=TV, computer, glasses, contact) with regards to discipline/power (=mother, ballet, manager).

Ayelet ... Thanks for posting this interesting dream.

Gently, humorously, you reminded me of this funny ballet troupe... and I finally found it again.

(music) 'Clumsy dance' (ballet dancer wearing glasses, Hommage à Jerôme Robbins) [4:11] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B__tkXXh1iw

...

I think that what your dream overall is showing is quite good actually... There's a lot of healthiness in it. PRIMA ballerina, tip-top, toe-top, preparing to make her entrance again. Telling the managers (inner talk) what their places are!, rightly.

I wonder if there's a part of you is feeling more ready to move forward in your life now. Reclaiming a part of your past that you had started, then, it was benched for a while.

I wonder if the dream is revealing that you have moved into a much more prepared state than you had been, to take the steps into what you really want. I think it is a picture of stepping closer to recovering what is 'yours' ... Taking your life back, overcoming/working your limitations, slowly and surely.

You are moving more and more towards a 'readiness' for what you want to do. You know there are limitations, and you're nervous or anxious a bit about these getting in the way... And!, you also are aware that you DO have some grace extended to be able to deal with it, at various steps and stages, while you seek to engage in the 'dance'. Your psyche is testing all the variables, and the result is that you still 'have it'... Amazed, yet you know you do. You worked for it!

(I could break down the dream into more specifics on where those clues were, if you need me too?)

(I may still add comments... probably in a separate post.)

Spiritual, The Rasa Lila Dance?

Lol they all seem to need glasses...
Wow Mirage, I really think you're on to something very right in your interpretation. It is about work, and about coming back to something I have abandoned ("benched" - nicely put) earlier. I am readying myself. I am not yet "on stage" but I ready myself. And I did suffer healthwise for a couple of years, like the dancers who have suffered for a couple of days. But the manager tells me if I don't dance well, I get more days off as sick. That may mean that if I don't succeed in my current endeavours, it may hurt my health. And it might do that. I don't yet get to have the opportunity to check it, because I postpone my "performance". I find that I am not prepared, since I don't have my contacts. So the test is postponed. I find defects in the managing, though. I take the attention off myself and on the manager. I blame the one in charge, the genius, hero of the movie. So I see the flaws of the system as a way to get away with things. And I want to be the heroine of the movie...

You really helped Mirage, thanks...
