I just had a dream that I was turned into the opposite sex (I'm a female and I became male).

I found myself in public showers with a group of other men my age (early 20's) and I had to keep up the charade that I was a normal guy even though I knew I was in a new body. The other boys suspected something was wrong with me. They weren't aggressive but they gave me weird looks and whispered to each other about my bizarre behavior.

I didn't really know what I was doing so I did act strange and break social rules - I had to look at other men while they were doing their business in the bathroom to see how to do it. I let other people into my own bathroom with me because the urinals were occupied. I isolated myself in a single shower.

In the end I got annoyed with their gawking and told them "There's nothing wrong with me. You're the weird ones! F*ggots." Yikes.

Afterwords I switched to another dream sequence. I usually have 3 or more dreams a night with different plots.

I'm weirded out but this one. Thoughts?

Sounds like you want to tell some people off!

You have some really strong feelings about that issue that you're trying to resolve.

You could be wanting an EQUAL chance in life, to be in the Boardroom (guy-places) and know what YOU need to find out for your own job?

Some places are still guy-oriented and exclude women (covertly) from job-info they NEED to have! It's like you have to be 'a man' to qualify! ....

That's not right or fair for Women in the Workplace.

You have the right to be pissedoff (urinals!!! LOL). TELLin 'em how you really FEEL about that?!!!

Interesting interpretation, Mirage!

Meyray, I see several themes here. One has to do with the male-female polarity. Do you feel like you are required to be man-like in your life, for example in your work? Perhaps you feel like you are expected to act in a certain way, which feels "out of your skin".
Second, you might feel like you have to put on an act for others, to conform to something which isn't the real you.
To seal this up, you may feel like you have to defend yourself, so that people won't think that you're different, so you tell them: "I'm o.k.! You're the weird ones! You are the ones with the problem.." while all this time it may be not a problem, really, just another mode of expression and identity, by which you might feel different from your immidiate surrounding...

Thank you both for the replies!

I work (technically still study) in the creative field which (at least to my knowledge and experience) doesn't discriminate between sexes at all. It's all about your ideas, aesthetics and creativity. I've never felt threatened by "men" or "women" in work or academia. Even people with merit in general have not really given me anxiety because I'm assured in my work ethic and I can appreciate people who are better without being threatened.

I do have issues with the male-female polarity but they are more philosophical/spiritual.

Ayelet, you are very right in your response about shunning from peers and being an outcast. That's something I've had issues with.

I read that switching genders in your dream can be a defense mechanism to immediately escape and separate from a current problem. In my previous dream sequence the story was that I tweeted a celebrity/teen idol (which I really like) and later saw my tweet was pretty much gibberish filled with mistakes. Then I went to their show (or a show in general I don't remember) and all the young girls there recognized me and started whispering to themselves "OMG, is that her? Yeah, that's definitely her." They recognized me from tweeting the celebrity.

Maybe in the next sequence I switched genders to avoid dealing with that and yet I still experienced ridicule...

This evening I also had very odd dreams again in in an anthology form.

Part I - The Deadly Game

There were three people involved - me, a man and a woman. The man was similar to Heath Ledger's Joker but the real villain was the woman. The man was frightened of her and was very quiet and anxious the entire time. He and I were kept as hostages by the woman. There were two empty rooms separated by a door and a niche/hole in the wall where two guns were hanging from the ceiling on chains. Me and the man were in one room while the woman was in the other room tormenting someone. She made us play a game - she would "chase" the other person in the room and wherever he stopped to cower she would enter our room, we had to stop moving and she would shoot one the guns at the same spot the man was (but in our room) - kind of like a roulette game for us.

Before the game started I remember trying to talk to the man to calm him down (I think I really thought of it as just a game). I remember I hugged his arm, made some small talk and asked him what his sign is lol. Our convo went like this.

me: So what's your sign?
him: I'm a Scorpio (my own sign lol)
me: Yeah, I thought so.
him: I wonder what her sign is.....*points tot the woman*
me: *after a short pause* She's a Gemini.

After the first round of the game we realized we were basically being hunted and I decided to try and unhinge the guns from the chains so she can't shoot us. Just as I did she noticed us and came out with a shotgun. We started running, escaped the room and ran down the stairs. The man was behind me and I heard the shotgun go off. Just as I was about to exist through the front door I think I was shot in the head or the back with the shotgun too....

Part II - Lions In The Snow

I was outside my apartment building and there was snow everywhere. However everything seemed....tropical. It was like my apartment building was transported to a tropical island but everything was barren and covered in snow. I was the only person there. It had post-apocalyptic vibes. My goal was to get inside my apartment. However there we lions roaming around.... white lions and regular lions (males because they all had manes). I had to navigate around them because they were gonna attack me and kill me. I managed to dodge a few white lions but then a regular lion somehow got trapped inside the entrance hall of my building so I had to find another way in. I decided to go around back and try to climb through the balcony of my room (I live on the first floor). I started climbing on some vines and some draped sheets that were there for some reason but I couldn't reach the balcony. That's when I woke up. I remember I had these inanimate objects that were sentient and were my sidekicks like in a Disney movie - I remember a few of them were sticks and there was also a tripod.

The deadly game - suggestions: Could you recognise the characters from your life? The woman, maybe? Or perhaps they were both aspects/projections of your personality. The man, the Scorpio, might have been your male aspect, while the woman could have been something that torments you, and Gemini is the "double" sign, so she could have been your negative, your dark side. And this side gets you in the end. Perhaps you are afraid that something within yourself would take over, control you or finish you off. Perhaps mind games and negative auto-suggestions are involved.

Lions in the snow - suggestions:
Who is/are keeping you from being/feeling at home? And what apocalypse do you imagine has occured? The tropical island covered in snow can symbolyze your own private refuge, your inner world, which is unlike its nature, i.e. covered in snow. There is something unnatural or irregular here, and I can see how it has a post-apocalyptic vibe to it. The dream might also be on living inside one's element. Nature is dominant. The male lions may symbolise a side of yourself that prevents you from being totally and completely yourself, which is why you can't get into your apartment.

That is a very interesting idea, and it could be so, both dreams containing the theme of ridicule. In the idol-dream you become infamous through trying to connect with a famous person you like. Do you think it could mean that if you try to connect with fame as an ideal you achieve the opposite? Just a thought.
