It started with H kicking out some dogs that somehow got in, or were already in the place as we arrived. I had just gotten off the phone with one of my best friends and finished doing something akin to baby sitting. Next thing I knew, different types of cats with deformities were showing up. There was tall grass in this place, as if no one had been in here for a while. I even saw another set of people, not sure if they belonged there, or they were like us, or what happened.

H's mom opened the front door (she and I do not talk because we do not get along), and shooed some cats outside. I was concerned that our cat would accidentally get lost by running out (she was not visible in this dream either). I wanted to keep a cat from the bunch as a companion for our cat, but my partner said no, especially not the one I pointed at, which turned out to have three or four eyes.

I called my kid to bring me the broom, but I found it and picked it up. Used it to sweep out the remaining cats out of the place.

I've had problems with H's mom that I felt were more about her connection with H, rather than having to deal with me as a person. I just became the name and face to blame this feeling on.

It's kind of funny because H told me the day after I had this dream that his mom called and asked when she moved residences could she take his cat as her companion. He was saying that he would miss his cat and that means he would have to visit more. I told H he's a knucklehead, as he should be visiting his mom more anyway.

I've been on and off upset with her for what she did for the past few months. I never wanted our relationship to be like that. I know it wasn't anything I did that made her act that way, only her.

Adding to what Ayelet and mirage are saying …

The shack symbolizes the state of some situation or relationship in your life, one that is run-down or uncared for, and definitely ignored (tall grass/no one had been here for a while).

The dogs and cats probably represent masculine and feminine energies, likely yours.

The dogs could represent masculine energies/aspects such as assertiveness, aggressiveness, protection, safety, etc. They can also represent loyalty or unconditional love.

Why do you suppose H is removing masculine aspects/energies from this “shack”/situation? If these aspects/energies are yours it would be like having some of your power taken away.

The cats could represent feminine aspects/energies such as nurturing, creativity, receptivity, etc. They can also represent independence, playfulness, or sexual energies.

Why do you suppose they are deformed? What does this say about you, the situation, or a relationship?

It is interesting that you want to keep one of the mutant cats but acquiesce/give in and actually assist in sweeping them out. Can you think of something this could relate to?

What does H’s mom have to do with these masculine and feminine energies being pushed around, and the dynamic between her, your partner, and yourself?

Just some thoughts.
