This dream could suggest having to deal with your nurturing side, which is necessary for any "gardening" you are reminded you wish to do. And it is something you might have already began to invest yourself in, then tossed aside.
Maybe you see someone else doing all this because you feel you need distance. You feel you need to examine things from afar as you cannot even stand the smell of it. Maybe you wish someone else took care of your "garbage".

Nice work at organizing what you wrote.

The sense of 'smell' is one of the most POWERFUL senses we have. It goes STRAIGHT into our reptilian-brain.

{I'm NOT into conspiracy theories. I'm laughing at what you might associate with that!}

It's the 'root' of our brain, our brain stem functions?

When you were a baby, the sense of smell was really important for you (for all of us). It helped you recognize your mother, from other people in your life.

It's the most powerful of all our senses.
Can IMMEDIATELY evoke a trigger response by reminding us of somewhere we've been, and recreating that whole 'emotion' and sense around the situation-- an array of emotions.

It's "instinctual" … Your "instinctual" sense.

Is your instinctual sense trying to warn you about something is 'rotten in Denmark'???
{phrase is a colloquialism}
Something is 'not' as it appears at first look.

Follow that lead into your own past memory associations? It could be connected, and you could gain yourself valuable information -- whether clues to your own psyche, and things that have happened in the past that interfere with you right now? ..

And/Or, pertains to your business hunches?
