The dream (this morning):

I remember that in the dream i was feeling upset about my work mates behaviour towards me (this is an issue in real life as they are quite standoffish and hot & cold with me at times even though my behaviour towards them haven't changed).

Suddenly,my boyfriend A's dad pops into my dream and starts to comfort me. It feels like very fatherly type of comforting,almost as though i am his daughter.

And then while talking with A's dad,i see A standing around with my dad and i look at A and he looks at me smiling sheepishly.

This dream is odd to me because in real life,A's dad knows about A and myself but he doesn't approve of our relationship as me and A are of different religions.

A's mom however is alright with our relationship but i haven't met either of A's parents in person and only spoke to A's mom on the phone once.

A's parents stay in a different country as well from where me and A currently live.

Another interesting point about this dream is that this is ONLY the 2nd time i have dreamt about A's parents.

The first time i dreamt about A's parents was in July 2018 (Coincidence?) and at that point A hadn't told his parents about our relationship.

In july of 2018,i dreamt that i met A at the airport and his parents were there.
His mom and dad both took turns and hugged me and i felt acceptance of me on their part with very warm,loving feeling from them towards me.

This triggered me to ask A to tell his parents about us.In july of 2018,A had gone to where his parents were for a visit and was with them when i asked him to tell them about us.

He finally did and his mom was more agreeable to our relationship than his dad was.

That was the only dream i had of his parents,although i remember now having one dream about his mom but the details about the dream is haze and i can't recall when i had that dream.

So my dear folks of lindaland,
could you please help bring light to the meaning of the dream i had today about the feeling i got in the dream that A's dad was comforting me me like he would if he had a daughter?

YES YES YES.I resonate very deeply with everything you have mentioned above here Ayelet.

Yes A is very important to me and he does feel like family to me.

I do want to be accepted by both of his parents but yea more so his dad as his dad wasn't quite keen on A marrying me the last time we brought it up.

And yes A does comfort me a lot in real life.He is my rock even at times when i tend to forgot that fact,he is still there for me.

The last bit about me talking with A's Dad and A talking with my dad could mean,as you said,that we are a family already in that dream..In other words,it's a reassurance that A and i will marry and be a family as i have a fear that A and I might not marry due to external circumstances.

We have worked on the external circumstances (its a work in progress though as it involves a lot more people than just us both) and have agreed to get married yet the fear is still there as A backed out once before due to pressure from his dad.

I did feel loved and accepted with a feeling of being protected,as if what will be will be if i trust in my heart.

But it is harder to trust in my heart in the cold light of day ..i am trying to though.
