I am sensible. Maybe more sensible than other people. This might come as a surprise because of my Sagittarius Sun, Capricorn Ascendant, Leo Moon, but I am sensible. I am serious RBF well put together (Cap) confident no fs given positive carefree (Leo+Sag). But I can feel a lot, including before things happen. This weekend 5 minutes before I fell in mud I kept feeling and seeing that something will happen to be careful tadalala, but nothing clear, just a feeling. Still slipped in the mud and fell lol.

Anyway, sometimes movies trigger me and although I love watching movies, they affect me.

I decided to watch Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities last night, episode 1. Amazing, it not only shows the dark paranomal but also the dark nature of mankind. But there was this scene with a summoned entity with no face. Its face was darker than the darkness of the room. Pure void.

I saw this in my sleep paralysis episodes when I was younger and seeing it consciously in detail, it affected me. I know how it is, I felt it. Writing this now started to make my hands shudder Ehem, I went to sleep last night and managed to relax. But I had trouble sleeping, I just kept waiting to fall asleep. It was so quiet also, no sounds from my cat, no sounds from outside, no cars, no radiator, no neighbours, nothing.

But, after a long time I heard it. It’s that sound. It’s as if something heavy steps on the floor one time and in the same time the floor subtly pops. Honestly, I laughed it off thinking “Haha, all this silence and now this familiar paranormal sound. What if it’s 3:33 am exactly…”. I grab my phone to look at the clock and its 3:33am. Incredibly amused and horrified is an understatement. I kept my eyes open and started praying until I felt ok and I heard nothing more.

I am no longer “haunted” by sleep paralysis so much and I moved away from the occult exactly because of this. In my experience and analysis, I’ve had sleep paralysis in my darker heavy depressed times (remember the word heavy) that I mixed with the occult. I believe I was “weak”, and entities could disturb my sleep and visit. But I have not already understood how those sounds keep happening iRL before you are truly visited.

The sounds, let me explain. When I was younger and had a lot of sleep paralysis… at night when I was starting to fall asleep, I would hear a faint pop + heavy press either in the floor, wall or furniture. HONESTLY, I took it rationally. Let’s say the interior of the room subtly cracks and pops from inside because of heat difference between day and night. OK. Then why my mother that would sleep in another room with same furniture, same wall, same floor, same window/light going in room, HAD NO SOUNDS AT NIGHT? I tested it. Anyway, it got so bad that I could literally feel the heavy presence in the room, literally causing things to pop and press on heavy. Recognize what I say? Heavy? You know when in sleep paralysis you feel something heavy on you? Bingo. But also so big - make it noticeable in reality. Heavy press on things. I moved from the room one night, I was horrified. I still remember, I mentally said “Stop it”, and in the next second i heard the loudest heavy pop press ABOVE MY HEAD. I ran to my mother’s room and slept with her. It was ok the first 1-2 days but then the same sounds happened for a while there. Mom heard it too and believed me. It stopped when I moved to the other room, but I would still wake up EVERY NIGHT around 3am. Just wake up. That also stopped after some time.

What I want to say, I am a bit shocked that I still heard that sound last night, after suuuuch a long time. And I want to share that IMO, the heavier your darkness (could be depression), the weaker and more sensible/open to the other world, the more chances you will get sleep paralysis.

In my sleep paralysis experiences, I could see something darker than the darkness from my room laying on me heavy. Sometimes it pressed hard on my arms and I woke up with small point form bruises. Other times, it was a dark figure that imitated the shape of my partner. I would think I woke up in the middle of the night in bed and my boyfriend was on top of me for some reason, and I wear glasses so… but in a few seconds I would realize that he is holding me down too heavy, not moving, and too dark. And i realize I am SP-ing… so I close my eyes try to relax until I get out of it. I am not religious, but that was the only time I prayed and it worked to wake me up.

When you look into the dark, the dark looks back at you, I guess. Share your experiences if you want.

I have a couple of surreal ones I could go into, but I don't feel like the effort.

One is really surreal and require some backstory, but suggests that some Nightmares are independent entities in their own right rather than just brain chemistry. Another is a reason I dropped the Kabbalah early (those getting me into it said I encountered a "dybbuk," but I just felt it was the wrong path for me). I might've even dismissed it for an intense nightmare had I not gotten the strangest email that caused me to about freak out (and I don't freak out easily).

But the one I will share is easy enough to describe. (It was also distinct from the others I could share.) It was classic sleep paralysis. Sitting on my sternum so I couldn't breathe (or just gasp) was a demonic gargoyle child. In fact, it looked very much like (but not perfectly identical) in the classic painting The Nightmare.

I couldn't move, and struggled to even breathe. My conscious self was awake and analyzing this, remembering what I read of these kinds of dreams. Though the lore is that no one has ever died from one, I thought, "If any did, how would we know?"

I fought the fear, and eventually broke my own paralysis, and came out of the dream, though it was awhile before I could relax back into sleep (which was then fine). I was proud of myself. Most rely on prayers or protective spells, and I defeated/overcome one through sheer cussed willpower.

I wonder what the astrological signatures of sleep paralysis could be?

I experienced it for 15 years, a few times a week. I don't remember sounds preceding it, but it was connected to stress for me. If I struggled to fall asleep that night, I was likely to experience it.

It went away when I corrected my diet and previously unknown food sensitivities. I am guessing it was less the food and more the stress it was putting my body under. I have them rarely now, but it is often connected to me having too much stimulation that night prior to bed, or struggling to sleep.

Perhaps it has to do with some stressful aspect to Mercury or Mars, through Neptune - I don't know, I hardly experienced it. Maybe someone would pick the glove and research it.

I have had sleep paralysis many times through out the years. Around 2017-2018 it was really bad, it happened nearly every night. It starts with everything feeling normal until I start to hear something walk towards my bedroom door.

Then it slowly begins to open it and I hear this sound that sort of sounded like a washing machine. When I hear the sound, I'd try to wake myself up because it felt terrifying. I would notice that afterwards the door was shut again, like nothing ever happened.

I never investigated the sleep paralysis phenomenon until lately. I believe it's a stage before leaving the body, which I've had quite a few experiences with. Which makes a lot of sense to me.

Last week Sleep Paralysis happened to me two times in two nights. But last time it happened were almost 8 years ago. That's why I'm in shock why it's happening again.
Hope it will not happen again with me.

I think my sister dealt with this, unless our house was really haunted. She is someone who needs complete darkness when she sleeps. I don't know how we shared a room for so long, because I can't handle complete darkness.

For years, in this house, she slept with her TV on a really low light setting, because it would feel like someone was getting into bed with her.

*when my sister was up north, years ago, and I was dealing with bad anxiety, my mum woke up thinking that I was pacing around my sister's room. She came upstairs to see if I was okay, and woke me up, when she called out to me from the stairs (it's a split-level house). I was asleep when she heard the pacing.
