Mundane Astrology deals with events in the world. Here is a short history.

Mundane Astrology is the first Astrology that was practiced. In Mesopotamia where the (Babylonian astrologer priests went up in there ziggurats every night to see the night stars and the dance of the planets they would stand in wonder at the night sky and behold the movements of the heavens.

This was the beginning of Astrology. But did they cast charts for individuals ? No, the only person who got a horoscope was the King or the ruler of the country. They would watch the sky and when planets moved through the sky to be with certain stars or other planets they would remember what was happening in the world around them. During the day when they could not see the stars and after a period of time they came to realize that when these planets came to themselves or to stars things would happen. This is the beginning of Astrology/Astronomy and of Mundane Astrology.

The ancient Babylonians made notes and kept records of every event and what was celestially occuring above them. After thousands of years, they recognised certain events occurred when certain planets formed geometry with one another.

Mundane Astrology interprets charts in terms of global trends, the destinies of nations and large groups of people based on an analysis of the cardinal ingresses (equinoxes, solstices,) eclipses, lunations, outer planetary conjunctions, national charts and the charts of leaders.

Well, hope this didn't bore you, but using this method, looking for important contacts of planets, one can get a fairly good idea of what is happening in the world of events, including war, politics, peace, stock market, finance, etc. You actually don't need an ascendent, midheaven for accurate geometry between the planets. The declination chart the Magi Society uses, is taken from the ancients. They wonder why tradtional astrologers don't use it any longer.

My hunch was and still is war won't start when the Sun is still in the Fish, it's more likely to breakout when the angry Ram comes tumbling in. What I am trying to do as an exercise is to find a date when the Sun/Moon transits to a sign which stirs up the already tense aspects between the outer planets. Say dates like 1-4 April?

it's scary enough thinking about what will start happening in NYC once the bombing starts.

11 March, Uranus transitted into Pisces and greeted the already Opposing Gemini Saturn & Sagittarius Pluto by Squaring BOTH of them.
9 April, Powell the Ram.
28 April, Hussein the Bull.
6 May, Blair the Bull.
6 July, Bush the Crab.

In future astrological textbooks, you'll find print World Events : Uranus in Pisces 2003 ......
