I quite agree Trillian! Jwhop IS one cool dude. (FYI-that probably just earned us quite a few brownie points with Mr. Leo over there )

I love cream of wheat actually. And grits-but only with a teaspoonfull of ricotta cheese in it. Don't knock it till you've tried it!

And yeah, jwhop, his bed always was just right

He's not technically "old"...but today is his birthday and we haven't spoken in a bit and since he's been on my mind, I thought I'd drop a line. I just got his reply-a very sweet one-so I'm in all sorts of a good mood. (deep down you guys are softies)

anafaery-where'd you run to??

ah, im here. i had a good nap today and just sort of recharged, and had a bit of a rest.

sometimes i do take things out of proportion, im just very sensitive. scorp rules my 11th house. *sigh* i just know also that i can come across as quite strong and difficult, and im aware of it... i just get nervous. i just know that ive ****** a couple of people off since ive been here, and it was building i guess, and i just wanted to make sure that i was understood. i am quite weird you see.

thanks everyone! i only just woke from my nap, so im groggy, but just wanted to acknowledge you all.

take care! sorry for being so crazy

tee hee

I feel misunderstood often. My own mother even mistakes my comments as combative, rather than me just trying to show her my point of view until she can come up with a reason to show me where my error lies; if any . But anafaery, I like the way that you take so much time to explain so exactly what it is that you are saying, and I understand it so much, you don't even know.

hey anafaery & silverbells-
You can't please everyone all of the time. People naturally disagree..part of life. It's just important that people do it civilly. Don't know much about the 11th house (pisces rules mine) though.

Glad you're back.

oh btw oxy... 11th house, is the house of friends. with scorp ruling mine, well im sure you know about scorps... and they have good and bad traits like anyone else. i do tend to be rather scorpionic in my friendships.

pisces rules your 11th huh? apply what you know about pisces to how you interact with your friends. im sure it will make sense to you

well i feel comfort knowing that a couple
of recent scary subjects/debates ive posted hasnt cheesed anybody off...thanks heaps !!!
anafaery,
i use caps for a few reasons, some times to formalise a word ...or make it more vivid ...another reason is when i print, i use caps in my hand writing ...
and the most obvious reasons is i guess due to the fact that i have been subjected to quite a lot of various forms of electromagnetic, ultrasonic etc... waveforms
associated with ... well one of my topics
within this forum ...and unfortunately poor eyesight is merely one of the detrimental side effects...its the eyes ...im not shouting.
but just to keep you cheery ive noticed you reside on the west coast of Canada ive been to vancouver bc ...yes us aussies do travel when we can, i loved it! a very pretty scenic place, downtown van & gastown reminds me of sydney here in oz... stanley park and a nearby forest- i cant remember its name? were awsome !!! i also witnessed a couple
of x-files shoots when i was there back in 97

hi being

nah, lol... i knew you werent meaning to shout, its just in forums its like, whoa, you know? i dont particularily care too much, its just a little pet peeve as i act online as i do irl and so tend to see online the same as irl. if that makes sense lol.

oh youve been here? thats cool i was reminded yesterday of how much i love this land. i went through vancouver and up through the mountians into squamish, where my aunt and uncle live. it was really great. so beautiful...

hmm a nearby forest? everything is forest maybe you were up by grouse mountain, you can see the lights of the ski runs at night from van, or maybe you went to belcarra. they are both lovely places, all of them are really. gastown is great. i would love to go to sydney sometime. not in your summer though, or um, winter? what do you call your seasons, as they are opposite to us on this side of the rock??

maybe you can come back again someday. i cant say too much about how wonderful this place is! i feel lucky to have been born here.

Hey trillian

Buttons are there to be pushed What else are they good for?

Think I've read everything Robert Heinlein ever wrote, including "Stranger in a Strange Land." Also all of Frederik Pohl, Poul Anderson, Harlan Ellison, Mike Resnick, Robert Silverberg, Isaac Asimov, Joe Halderman, Arthur C. Clarke, Frank Herbert, Gregory Benford, Michael Bishop, Clifford D. Simak, Fritz Leiber, James Blish and Legions of others over the years. But, of all the science fiction I've ever read, the Foundation Trilogy and spinoffs by Isaac Asimov are by far and away my favorites.

No absolutes, and enjoys s/f. That's very cool.

Thanks for your comments trillian

SCARY CAPS HA HA
ANAFAERY,
grouse mountain thats it ...and i didnt get a t-shirt aparently i learned you get one when you hike from the bottom to the top and it reads "i survived the grind"
our seasons over here are...
summer=dec,jan,feb
autumn=mar,apr,may
winter=jun,jul,aug
spring=sept,oct,nov...my favourite season ussually no extremes in temp depending on where you are, also cause its my birthay on sept 21 ... and is, so i am to believe, quote me if i am wrong, the original date of the spring solstice
to coinside with your weather and temps the best time to visit sydney would be autumn or spring then again it doesnt snow in sydney so i guess winter here would seem mild compared to vancouver
bye for now ana

Oxy, you and trillian swipe a copy of the Leo Handbook Eyes Only, you know By all means, save those brownie points. One day, they'll be worth something----like S&H green stamps.

I guess putting ricotta cheese in grits isn't too weird. I know an Aqua who puts sugar on her sliced tomatoes.

Thanks for sharing that with me Oxy, I'm always interested in how other Leo's are doing.

oxy- yea, its a good way to see how we act or portray ourselves in the realm that the house rules, and we can do this exercise with every house. with the 11th it rules friends as also many other things too.

looking at friends though-

we look to what sign rules the house and its attributes, and we also look to the ruler of the house, in my case it would be pluto and my pluto is posited in my 9th in virgo. this would indicate that i have deep (scorp) friendships (11th) and strong connections (scorp) and that my friends are often a source of transformation (pluto) with me (and i for them), and that i tend to be of service (virgo) to my friends usually in the realm of the 9th house which is any number of things but often comes down to philosophy and 'religion' etc. also i tend to have intense friendships/ be seen as intense by friends.

conversely there is a down side to the placing, as scorpios have two sides as do all signs. scorpio deals with enigmatic things and secrecy, and often jealousy is associated with scorp, although jealousy doesnt come up with me personally as i have a strong sun/asc etc to waylay that aspect of scorp. i am quite enigmatic about my friendships and secretive about them as well though. i also can pick up on discontent or ulterior motives rather easily and react accordingly with the scorpionic ability of detection (scorps make great detectives and i do usually know what a person is motivated by when i meet them, im good at 'reading' people) and i have the sag asc to back it up. sag rising are usually pretty good at getting to the heart of a matter. my 11th and pluto (sextile neptune) are two supportive factors in my chart that explain my somewhat psychic abilities... i hate the term psychic though. i suppose i could use the word empathetic... yea i like that better.

look at neptune in your chart and the aspects it makes to the other planets. pisces are also deep being water, im sure you crave or attract deep friendships too. pisces are quite dreamy, perhaps you idealize friends/hips, or they idealize you. pisces is my favorate sign as for some reason i just love them. other good attributes about pisces are the fact that they are quite sensitive and caring, and have a great deal of empathy. that can be a very positive attribute when looking at the 11th house. the flip side of pisces is the illusion of thinking that things are other than what they are. beware of that factor when you are looking at the 11th and neptune. you may feel a need to portray yourself to your friends as something you are not, or the opposite, or be wishy washy, another piscean trait that can occur. in general pisces are a great sign and im sure you have tons to offer your friends. we just always have to be aware of certain tendencies so that we 'swim upstream' rather than down.

with pisces ruling your 11th theres a possibility of using drugs/drink when around friends, but i dont think ive ever seen you mention drink/drugs. depending on other things in your chart and the state of your neptune (which i dont know) i doubt you would be one to drink alone though.

thats just a brief synopsis. hope it helped a little.

hi being

ah yes, the grouse grind. i will never do that even if a guns pointed to my head id rather go nude sunbathing at rec beach, and i hate my body its a tough hike. its renowned for it.

yes, id go to aus in the winter. i have delicate constitution and the heat would kill me. i was in miami not last winter but the one before, and even in december it was in the high 90's, low 100's!!! it ended up that i had to go to the emergency room and be treated for severe dehydration and borderline heatstroke. i certainly dont want to experience *that* again, i felt like i was seriously dying. i thought i was having a heart attack, and im only 33! so i have to be really careful as to climate wherever i visit.

i feel like one of those ladies from the late 19th c. who were always getting the 'vapors' and who needed 'fainting couches'

take care

mmmmm....grits.....mmmmm...a southern roommate introduced me to grits in HS.
But I love them smothered in butter, so I eat them very rarely.

The Leo handbook, eh? I adore Leos! I truly do...I have Leo rising, ya know. So this Aries girl is likely to toss the handbook and just wing it...

Ana- Thanks for all of that! Wow!! I want to respond, definitely, but I really want to think about it first and try to come up with my own understanding of Pisces ruling the 11th. Lots of food for thought there!

jwhop,
You forgot to mention how good it can be to have a big Leo buddy around in bad times. I assume it's on Page 1 of the Chapter "Why Everyone Wants to Be Around Us" from the Leo handbook. We were out celebrating my Leo buddy's birthday last night and he and my fave Aqua bartender really came to my aid when some jerk overstepped the boundaries with me. I hate to imagine what could have happened if they weren't around. Scary. Kudos to you protective Leos!!

glad i could help

just felt in an explainey mood that day. i love how we can do that little exercise. even if we have no planets in a house, a lot of things can still be found out about that area if we know where to look. its one of my favorate little astrological thingies.

happy to share

ahhhhhhhh i HATE caps too- gives me a headache trying to read them.

its good to have this reminder about not being offensive- some people seem to see a comment they dont agree with and fly off the handle (im sure we're all guilty of doing it sometimes) but theres a fine line between expressing your opinion and being rude it seems.

anafaery
"if im too 'disruptive' or whatever, just say the word and ill leave"
i cant believe you said that! i know that was a while ago but... your posts are always the most fair and interesting (if a little long at times) so you cant leave. thats the final line- you cant. i agree with you on so many things (not just radiohead and the matrix )

i've not been here much longer than you and it might make you feel better to know theres someone here who feels more out of place than you. this is an astrology website and i think im correct in saying im the *only* one here who does not believe in it at all and who has (possibly ignorantly) never read one of linda's books (cant hold it against me tho since i dont believe in it).

hope to have our 'discussion' soon- neither of us could surely feel left out in our own thread lol.
