Why can't I just get a straight answer from the source, rather just getting a typical fresh reply from the majority?

None at all, ozonefiller. I don't consider myself any of those. As a voter, I'm registered as an independent if that makes a difference, but I chose that because I don't always (or even usually) agree with one side at all. I guess I could be somewhere in the middle of any of those. I could be a liberal conservative sometimes and a conservative liberal at other times ... sometimes I agree with plain old conservatives and other times with plain new liberals. Or maybe I'll take a page from one of Harpyr's posts and go with something like Republicrat or Demoblican.

In all seriousness, I don't consider myself anything but myself. There are a few categories I'll grudgingly allow myself to be placed in just because people find it necessary that this is so. My compromise as far as politics is "independent".

I'm really sorry if that is an uncomfortable position for me to be in for anybody else, but it's the most comfortable position I have found for myself.

*Note, btw, sometimes I don't even agree with either side so there it is.

I'm registered Dem, hubby is registered Repub. I originally registered Dem when I was 18 for the Bush/Dukakis election, and never changed it. I like to think that it throws them for a loop, your individuality isn't registered in voting, but your party affiliation is, so while I vote usually Republican or Independant, it will (hopefully) have Democratic demographers and statisticians wondering why party members are being driven to vote outside the party. I know several people who do this for that very same reason. Maybe we add up when all considered together, who knows, just a fantasy I s'pose Also, I get to vote in the Dem primaries, not that it matters because by the time it gets to California, most everyone has already dropped out anyway

But it works out, us each being registered in the different parties means we get all the propaganda from both camps.
