George Washington was a spiritual man and had an angelic vision about the birth, progress and the destiny of the U.S. This appears as told to Anthony Sherman in 1859.
quote:

"I do not know whether it is owing to anxiety of my mind, or what,
>but this afternoon, as I was sitting at
> this table engaged in preparing a dispatch, something seemed to
>disturb me. Looking up, I beheld standing
> opposite me a singularly beautiful female. So astonished was I, for
>I had given strict orders not to be
> disturbed, that it was some moments before I found language to
>inquire the cause of her presence. A
> second, a third, and even a fourth time did I repeat my question,
>but received no answer from my
> mysterious visitor except a slight raising of her eyes.
>
> "Presently I heard a voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and
>learn,' while at the same time my visitor
> extended her arm eastwardly. I now beheld a heavy white vapor at
>some distance rising fold upon fold.
> This gradually dissipated, and I looked upon a strange scene.
>Before me lay spread out in one vast plain
> all the countries of the world --Europe, Asia, Africa, and America.
>I saw rolling and tossing, between
> Europe and America, the billows of the Atlantic, and between Asia
>and America lay the Pacific.
>
> "'Son of the Republic,' said the same mysterious voice as before,
>'look and learn.' At that moment I beheld
> a dark, shadowy being, like an angel, standing, or rather floating,
>in the hollow air, between Europe and
> America. Dipping water out of the ocean in the hollow of each hand,
>he sprinkled some upon America
> with his right hand while with his left hand he cast some on
>Europe. Immediately a cloud raised from these
> countries and joined in mid-ocean. For a while it remained
>stationary, and then moved slowly westward,
> until it enveloped America in its murky folds. Sharp flashes of
>lightning gleamed through it at intervals, and
> I heard the smothered groans and cries of the American people.
>
> "A second time the angel dipped water from the ocean, and sprinkled
>it out as before. The dark cloud
> was then drawn back to the ocean, in whose heaving billows it sank
>from view. A third time I heard the
> mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn.' I
>cast my eyes upon America and beheld
> villages and towns and cities springing up one after another until
>the whole land, from the Atlantic to the
> Pacific, was dotted with them. Again I heard the mysterious voice
>say, 'Son of the Republic, the end of the
> century cometh, look and learn.'
>
> "At this the dark shadowy angel turned his face southward, and from
>Africa I saw an ill-omened spectre
> approach our land. It flitted slowly over every town and city of
>the latter. The inhabitants presently set
> themselves in battle array against each other. As I continued
>looking, I saw a bright angel, on whose brow
> rested a crown of light, on which was traced the word 'Union,'
>bearing the American flag which he placed
> between the divided nation, and said, 'Remember ye are brethren.'
>Instantly, the inhabitants casting from
> them their weapons became friends once more, and united around the
>National Standard.
>
> "And again I heard the mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the
>Republic, look and learn.' At this, the dark,
> shadowy angel placed a trumpet to his mouth and blew three distinct
>blasts; and taking water from the
> ocean, he sprinkled it upon Europe, Asia, and Africa. Then my eyes
>beheld a fearful scene. From each of
> these countries arose thick, black clouds that were soon joined
>into one. And throughout this mass, there
> gleamed a dark red light by which I saw hordes of armed men, who,
>moving with the cloud, marched by
> land and sailed by sea to America, which country was enveloped in
>the volume of cloud. And I dimly saw
> these vast armies devastate the whole country, and burn the
>villages, towns and cities that I beheld
> springing up.
>
> "As my ears listened to the thundering of the cannon, clashing of
>swords, and the shouts and cries of
> millions in mortal combat., I again heard the mysterious voice
>saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn.'
> When the voice had ceased, the dark shadowy angel placed his
>trumpet once more to his mouth, and
> blew a long and fearful blast.
>
> "Instantly a light as of a thousand suns shone down from above me,
>and pierced and broke into fragments
> the dark cloud which enveloped America. At the same moment the
>angel upon whose head still shone the
> word 'Union,' and who bore our national flag in one hand and a
>sword in the other, descended from the
> heavens attended by legions of white spirits. These immediately
>joined the inhabitants of America, who I
> perceived were well-nigh overcome, but who immediately taking
>courage again closed up their broken
> ranks and renewed the battle. Again, amid the fearful noise of the
>conflict, I heard the mysterious voice
> saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn.'
>
> "As the voice ceased, the shadowy angel for the last time dipped
>water from the ocean and sprinkled it
> upon America. Instantly the dark cloud rolled back, together with
>the armies it had brought, leaving the
> inhabitants of the land victorious.
>
> "Then once more I beheld the villages, towns and cities, springing
>up where I had seen them before, while
> the bright angel, plating the azure standard he had brought in the
>midst of them, cried with a loud voice:
> 'While the stars remain, and the heavens send down dew upon the
>earth, so long shall the Union last.' And
> taking from his brow the crown on which was blazoned the word
>'Union,' he placed it upon the Standard,
> while the people, kneeling down, said 'Amen.'
>
> "The scene instantly began to fade and dissolve, and I at last saw
>nothing but the rising, curling vapor I at
> first beheld. This also disappearing, I found myself once more
>gazing upon the mysterious visitor, who in
> the same voice I had heard before, said, 'Son of the Republic, what
>you have seen is thus interpreted.
> Three great perils will come upon the Republic. The most fearful is
>the third.'
>
> "(The comment on his word 'third' is: 'The help against the THIRD
>peril comes in the shape of Divine
> assistance; passing which, the whole world united shall not prevail
>against her. Let every child of the
> Republic learn to live for his God, his land and Union.')
>
> "With these words the vision vanished, and I started from my seat
>and felt that I had seen a vision wherein
> had been shown me the birth, progress, and destiny of the UNITED
>STATES."

Wow.

But what does that mean for Canada, your (sometimes stupid and annoying) little bro?

"as long as the stars remain" is a long time Juniperb and so far, it's holding because the United States has the longest surviving government in the world. It's a good one and I want to keep it that way.

Election after election has come and gone right on time and the underlying law of the land has had few Amendments, considering it spans over 200 years.

Funny Lioneye but I don't consider Canada our little bro. Rather as an ally with a somewhat similar people, values and history, occupying the same continent who have been pleased to go their own way when we differ, as is your right as a free people but usually there when real trouble breaks out.

this fits beautifully with my post on "those horrible photos..." about aquarius' restoration of the feminine water principle, you know, carrying it and all...

quote:
i believe the feminine water principle is wearing the white hat on the horizon...and is that a bugle i hear?

maybe we each could add a little bit of the milk of human kindness into the pottage, and invite esau and jacob to a meal?

and just as in "lord of the rings" it is froto's faith and determination that will be required as we face this looming prophecy

and when the time comes, remember that even the trees in nature joined the fight. this is the true battle for our survival--not what passes for "protecting our country" in the oil fields of iraq

and it is interesting to note that the angel dipped into the feminine, lunar WATER of the ocean to continue the battle, not into the gunpowder of mars

what does water symbolize?

water is feminine, lunar energy, and it is aided, or carried, by aquarius

without water, fiery testosterone from the sun has been out of balance during this piscean age, which followed the age of aries, demanding altars to burn sacrifices, etc.

water effectively puts out fire. yet water can rush into floods and destroy everything in its path, too. we don't want that

and without fire, where would we be?

with the mellowing influence of water, fire is contained and turned into plowshares and channeled toward nurturing the planet rather than destroying it

balance is the key...and isn't it fascinating that the pope was born during a solar eclipse, the moon in conjunction and harmony with the sun? how symbolic is that?
especially combined with the fiery explosion of mount saint helens on the pope's birthday years later

and how riveting is it to learn of "spirit lake" spilling out of its watery bowl, and baptizing the mountain in the process?

the plot really thickens when you factor in the challenger explosion, with two women aboard: JUDith and CHRISTa

the sun's male fire energies, raging out of control on the planet, and aided by the militaristic energies of mars, will not want to surrender willingly

hence the ensuing "battle of the sexes"

and note what else lies in the waters of the ocean? what is surrounding ellis island but a womb of water, giving birth to "liberty"?

we can thank the french for their love of freedom, which tipped the scales in favor of independence from britain

and maybe we ought to have listened to them, when they tried to tell us we were not living according to the principles of liberty for the whole world when we attacked iraq

and it has become just waaayy too much testosterone

do you see how our lives depend upon our adherence to WATER, the feminine element here? it is imperative that we align ourselves with these energies or we will be devoured by FIRE

it is peaceful water that will douse the flames, not more firepower

so, the next time anyone is tempted to deride the peace activists, remember that it is they who are on the forefront of the coming battle. they will be the commanders in the watery duel, so we must not stab them in the back

now, in greek, the letters in the phrase "JESUS CHRIST, SON OF GOD, SAVIOR form the word ICHTHYS, or fish, from which the early christians derived the symbol which you see adorning some bumpers today

and now why do you suppose there were TWO fishes in pisces?

Raine6, the vision gives me hope. Hope that this country will stand the tests of time, terrorists and turmoil the world is embroiled in.

quote:
'While the stars remain, and the heavens send down dew upon the
>earth, so long shall the Union last.

juniperb, how refreshing it is to see others who also inspire hope in me. isn't it neat how that works?

and it is this little lighting of our candles, and sharing our flames with others when they flicker and threaten to go out, that will enlighten the world

if we all were to light just one little candle, what a bright world this would be

i am joyful right now, contemplating the millenial peace that will either arise or descend, i am not sure which

maybe both. it will grow as we each send forth our little light into the universe, and the angels will come down to help save the day. it is decreed

let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me

and lioneye, if we ever go to war with canada, which is a distinct possibility at the aggressive rate we are going, you have nothing to fear

the north-south polarity will assure your secure spot on the globe

Go to war with Canada? Inconcievable. We don't have a death wish, you know. What effects the US effects Canada as well. As much as we'd like to think we're a completely independant nation...we're more like siamese twins, (only, the US is the much larger twin who got most of the nurishment in the womb...ok ok, I realize this isn't the best analogy lol)
I'm not worried about whethor the US will allow us to continue existing. I can think of much worse fates than becoming a part of it. Heck, the average joe wouldn't even notice a difference in lifestyle. As long as we still get to have our beer and hockey, that is lol... What I meant was, I was wondering how Canada will facter in to the whole scene, of the last "black cloud".

What do you mean the north-south polarity?

you must not have seen the movie "South Park" where the united states goes to war with canada. canadian movies were corrupting our kids' morals, so we went to war with them...or something like that...i didn't see it, only heard about it

it seemed kinda funny that the idea of being willing to kill to protect our morality was portrayed--no doubt a spoof on how reality can get

the north-south principle was talked about by linda in her book 'star signs', p. 298:

[QUOTE]
One of the facets of universal synchronicity, a striking evidence of the harmony of the Universe, is the North-South mystery...Universal Law states that, in the Northern hemisphere, the North always has been and always shall be dominant over the South. When an opposition or a conflict occurs between them, the North will always win--or there will be a draw or a tie, so that no one wins. But in any event, the South cannot dominate or be victorious over the North (and vice versa in the southern hemisphere)

examples include the civil war, korea, vietnam, and the invincibility of the finns from the invading russians. (combined with good ol' sisu!)

(si' su--that's the finnish word for "guts" or "moxie"--determination)

and how will canada factor in the whole scene, the black cloud? drum roll..........

i fear americans will have far more bloodshed than they are crying for these days. perhaps canada will once again be a refuge for those who want no part of it???

btw, i have lived in canada, and you have a most beautiful country

and again, if anyone is interested in how this will all play out, study the goddess principles and how they will save the day. it is decreed

about the destiny of the U.S., linda has this to say, on p. 305 of Star Signs:

quote:

Could it be that the Higher Selves of both the American Indians and the Higher Selves of those English-born soldiers who fought them had a larger law in mind--that these Higher Selves of both sides knew the future of America, and knew that it was in the hands of a few Adepts and Avatars with the most glorious dream since the original dream in Eden?

...Abraham Lincoln, America's visionary and ultrasensitive leader, believed by metaphysicians to have been one of the fourteen soul pieces of Osiris, knew this esoteric secret...all men are created equal...America will continue to be divinely protected, as long as our First Amendment, guaranteeing Freedom of Speech remains intact. To keep it so is worth putting up with all manner of printed and spoken ugliness to protect that First Amendment. And it's worth remembering Voltaire's ringing declaration, "I may disapprove of what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

sadly, the patriot act attacks more than just the first amendment. it turned the most peaceful participants in a drake university lawyers guild forum right here in iowa into terrorists by issuing them federal subpoenas, as well as as a gag order over the entire university

enough "true patriots" protested this travesty, and they were withdrawn. but does this not chill anyone else? the fact that it drew so little response is even more chilling

but, again, i suppose it, too, is all part of a greater plan. but that doesn't mean that we in any way have to partake in the aggression. why would anyone choose to do so?

it must be that they are putting their faith in the old piscean patriarchal system, but hopefully they will soon realize that the aquarian age is far better. other sources call it the millenium

I believe our destiny is that of every other nation in recorded history. Nothing lasts forever.

I just hope we last at least as long as the Egyptian civilization lasted, and without the "Intermediate Periods"...
