Lioneye,

Great post!!! I am like you though, it really doesn't matter the person that is being attacked- when unfair tactics come into play I also get upset. If this was about a Democrat and someone from the right made a movies based on lies..I would be discounting him/ her as well, because it makes me sick.

Isis,

You are so right on!!! I think what we really see here regarding the hatred towards Bush borders on a pathological personal vendetta. Some people need someone to hate and to blame all of the worlds problems on to make them feel better. So backing lies and quoting unsubstantiated facts helps them feel that they have done a good deed for the day.

I do understand and promote a person's right to dissent against the war and our countries actions. I do not promote a person that takes the action further to wishing the president and conservatives dead or hoping something terrible happens to prove their point. That makes me sick - like those that believe the war is wrong, but using violence to disrupt a meeting is right? Hurting innocent people at a conference justifies their anti-whatever stance.

The people putting up the websites instructing people to throw marbles in Madison Square Garden under the feet of the horse carrying the police officers - HOW IN THE HELL is that going to get a positive message across? Instead it is only going to hurt or possibly kill the horse and endanger the rider. Let's also talk about how they want to use people dressed in black (the anarchists) to cause vandalism and destruction to corporate property- or the ammonia nitrate being recommended for release when the bomb sniffing dogs to their checks.

That will ruin the dog for life..yeah- that makes me real sympathetic to their cause. Do you see this crap being slung in Boston towards the DNC? Why is it the open minded left is the one trying to organize such sick and childish antics?

That fact that some people believe MM's lies is no surprise. Some people are sheep and will also believe anything that supports their narrowminded thinking.

I had someone ask if I had an attitude - Yeah I do, when it comes to observing people acting like children and wishing ill on our President, yeah that makes me sick. Especially when those said people then cry for the lives of murderers on death row. Guess values got twisted somewhere...

Yeah, there were a few sickos out there who wished Bill Clinton ill. And I'm sure there are some out there who wish ill on Bush. But I don't think any of them are here in LL. Certainly there are some who would rather he wasn't President anymore but that's not really wishing him personal harm, is it?

My turning point was the "misson accomplished" show. To crow about a successful attack - I don't understand that. What sort of a man would do that?? It bespeeks a man with the emotional and philosophical depth of a puddle. War is a serious business and these are grave matters we have gotten ourselves into. They deserve better than that silly, juvenile publicity stunt.

And, yes, I feel the same way about Kerry and his much ballyhooed purple hearts. Very dishonorable and distinctly bad form.

"guess values got twisted somewhere"
Yup, it sure does.

Another nail in the coffin of Michael Moore's intellectual dishonesty and moral bankruptcy.

Friday, July 30, 2004 8:44 p.m. EDT
Newspaper: Michael Moore Faked Front Page

BLOOMINGTON -- Filmmaker Michael Moore's Bush-basing documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" apparently has upset more than Republicans.

The (Bloomington) Pantagraph newspaper in central Illinois has sent a letter to Moore and his production company, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., asking Moore to apologize for using what the newspaper says was a doctored front page in the film, the paper reported Friday. It also is seeking compensatory damages of $1.

A scene early in the movie that shows newspaper headlines related to the legally contested presidential election of 2000 included a shot of The Pantagraph's Dec. 19, 2001, front page, with the prominent headline: "Latest Florida recount shows Gore won election."

The paper says that headline never appeared on that day. It appeared in a Dec. 5, 2001, edition, but the headline was not used on the front page. Instead, it was found in much smaller type above a letter to the editor, which the paper says reflects "only the opinions of the letter writer."

"If (Moore) wants to 'edit' The Pantagraph, he should apply for a copy-editing job," the paper said.

Lions Gate Entertainment did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment Friday.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Michael Moore scares me for the simple fact that his views are the only ones he thinks should be heard. He wants everyone to accept and respect his opinion, but he then refuses to do the same for others.
I caught a minute of him on Jay Leno last night as he was complaining about the treatment Linda Ronstadt received after dedicating a song to him during a performance in Vegas. What most "celebrities" cannot seem to grasp is that as consumers/audience the best way our voices can be heard is through the almighty dollar. The same thing happened with the Dixie Chicks. It is fine for them to get up on stage and have their opinion heard, but for us "little people" to have our voices heard we have to boycott and protest, at which time the artist then claims they are being attacked by "anti-American" behavior. Where exactly is it "anti-American" to say "I don't like what you said, I disagree with it completely, therefore I am not going to support you and your thinking any more?" And why does it make some people seem closed minded and horrible to others when they say they're not going to support Michael Moore and his boarish behavior by going to see his movie? Those who do not see the film are exercising their right to say "I have my own opinion and do not need some millionaire film maker shove his opinion down my throat."
I do not support Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Martin Sheen and others because I do not agree with their views. I don't try to stop others from supporting them, but they are not going to get my dollars. I prefer to support artists who do not use their celebrity to voice their political and ideological opinions, because in the end those are the people who have enough common sense to know that you cannot please all of the people all of the time, but you can tick some of the people off all of the time.

Sorry if this rambles. The head cold is still hanging on and Jack Daniel's may not cure everything, but it sure helps.

Blessings to all.

Right on, LLL (fellow big-cat )

I despise people like Michael Moore, even if I don't necesarily disagree with all of their views. I despise people who make $hit up, relay facts out of context, omit pertinant facts that don't support the bad portrait they wish to paint, and generally consciously seek to portray someone in a negative light, using anything other than the plain and simple truth, because the truth just isn't condemning enough.

It's just like starting a rumor about someone that you are jealous of, and spreading it around to make everyone else dislike them. It's a hatefull and dispicable thing to do, and he should be chastized for it, NOT fricken WORSHIPPED and made rich. The fact that his movie is so wildly popular is a sad testiment to the widespread lack of honor and integrity in society today.

People must make the effort to think for themselves and distinguish between truth and opinion. Realize that there is usually more to a story than what's being presented by someone who is clearly biased. Otherwise, you are being a blind sheep.
