George's recommendations for a better health care system:

"...and let me tell ya what else we'd need to do, we'd need to do something about these frivolous lawsuits that are running up the cost of your health care and running good Docs outta business. We'd got an issue in America, too many good Docs are getting outta business, too many OBGYNs aren't able to practice they're... they're love with women that are across this country!"

--------------------------------------------

I got to give Bush some credit, during such times of sadness in the world, ya can always count on him for a good laugh!

Keeping Y'all posted!

Yeah 26, it's sure a good thing that he wasn't mixing that with a speech of(ahem) "Family values"!

I like the fact that he added that "too many good Docs are getting outta hand!" as well!

Here's a quickie:
http://media.ebaumsworld.com/sovereignty.mov

I'm not trying to poke fun here, but this is a clip of Bush speaking about the issue of tribal sovereignty in the US. For a moment I had a flashback of highschool debate, lol.

I don't know weather to laugh or cry on that one and yet, just to feel a tad bit scared!

Welcome back Eleanore!

Where/when is that quote from OZ?

It appears to be a misquote from his speech at the GOP convention. If you're going to quote someone, you really should put the info on what speech it is from. I'm sure the Kerry-supporters would demand the same were Jwhop or I quoting Kerry. Here's an exerpt from his speech at the GOP convention:

"As I have traveled our country, I have met too many good doctors, especially OB-GYNS, who are being forced out of practice because of the high cost of lawsuits. To make health care more affordable and accessible, we must pass medical liability reform now. And in all we do to improve health care in America, we will make sure that health decisions are made by doctors and patients, not by bureaucrats in Washington, DC."

I don't know Isis saw it this morning on TV, I think that it was the speech that he made in Missouri and was about stating on how much Kerry flip/flops on his words and that he can be more "forward and direct"!

So true, so true!

With those shifty, beady, little eyes and that smile when he says in his speech, like as if his facial expressions screems out "You stupid, stupid people, you like what I'm saying, but I have clue what I'm saying, you'll just nod, clap and agree anyway, because my mommy and daddy got your mommy and daddy to program you that way, when they were doing all those funny tests back in the 60's and 70's!"!

Actually, he is very sweet. A true Cancerian! During his speech at the convention he began to have tears in his eyes while he spoke about knowing that great soldiers have died for the cause in Iraq. I swear, he got teary-eyed. Never before seen! Actually, the other time I saw him cry was after the WTC collapsed.

I'm just adding another perspective toward this man.

So quick to believe the worst...

I just think it's sad, to live in a world where no one can be given the benefit of the doubt...

I saw tears too during his GOP speech, and I believe them to be genuine. Bush isn't an actor by trade (which is also the reason why he often screws up his speeches IMO), if he were an actor I might believe he can conjur up tears. But he's just a guy, from Texas - they're not known for getting teary-eyed. He is a cancer after all, and I think his empathy for people's suffering is genuine.

I don't think we are in the position to make assesments about his personality, like "he's sweet" ... "or he's not a nice person".

No one on this board knows him personally. So, no one on this board is qualified to make assesments about his personality, in that respcet.

That being said...

I LOVE Bushisms! They're so damn funny!

That "old saying in Tennesee" one is still my all time favorite.

I go by what he has done in the last four years and if he thought that he can go about, writing out his policies without any criticism in the matter, then I can surely understand why he has developed a full head of gray hair within a matter of the past few years!

However, I think that the best presidents that we've had in the US so far, happen to be those of the fixed signs, I mean give and take, you got to be a little nutty to run this country!

Yeah, I gotta admit it. Bushisms are funny!

But its interesting that even though most of us find them funny, we still have our different perceptions of the president's "personality" or intentions. I saw his speach at the GOP too, and there were tears in his eyes, unless my vision is going. I think GWB has foot-in-mouth disease at times, but it is this hapless trait which leads me to believe that "what you see is what you get". He just doesn't seem to be wiley enough to be a real "pretender". He's not a skilled enough actor. I guess that's why I just don't think he is evil or crafty enough to be guilty of half the things he is accused of. I think he speaks from the heart but without the head somtimes.

If you saw tears in his eyes, Isis, I believe you. Thinking about all the people one had gotten killed? IHe ought to have been a bit 'overbright'.
