He's right in the middle of it. He e-mailed me and said he's looking forward to returning when he can. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Thank you one and all. The hurricane has gone North and the sun is out here on the Florida Sun Coast. Some debris but the only real event...for me at least was a loss of electricity for about 14 hours.Other's are not so fortunate. Millions in FL will be without power for days, especially on the East coast and parts of central Florida. There will also be some flooding as the creeks and rivers rise in low lying areas from the heavy rains. I really feel sorry for them because there's nothing they can do to prevent water from getting into their homes again. Thank you again jwhop IP: Logged |

JW - Glad to see you safe and sound.Do you know how Melbourne fared? I understand that they got the brunt of it. My Great-Aunt's down there, but not much's come out of her (through my Grandma). The prior was a Woman Marine, and until the Apoclaypse occurs everything'll be "fine". I have the feeling that even if the end of the world did come, it'd still be a "fair to middlin'" day. Hi proxime, you might want to try this newspaper site. It's a Melbourne newspaper http://www.floridatoday.com/!NEWSROOM/index.htm Being on the Northwest quadrant of the hurricane, Melbourne probably got the brunt of the forward bands of the hurricane as it came ashore south in Stuart, Florida. I saw a story that the Cape suffered damage too and that's very nearby Melbourne. A fair to middlin day is lingo with which I'm familiar. Some people just never complain. IP: Logged |
