A friend emailed this to me. I thought some might be interested in seeing it.

As to the authenticity of the quoted Koran, I don't know but that's the way it's working out.

it is soo awsome how our god works!

IRAQ - VERY INTERESTING - DID YOU KNOW?

1. The garden of Eden was in Iraq.

2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!

3. Noah built the ark in Iraq.

4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq.

5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq!

6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq.

7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq.

8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq.

9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.

10. Amos cried out in Iraq!

11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.

12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq!

13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been in Iraq also as the fourth person in the fiery furnace!)

14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the "writing on the wall" in Iraq.

15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq.

16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq.

17. The wise men were from Iraq.

18. Peter preached in Iraq.

19. The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq!

And you have probably seen this one. Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible. But do you know which nation is second? It is Iraq! However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible. The names used in the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia. The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.

Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.

No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated it than Iraq.

And also... This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages...

The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)

Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

(Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?! God Bless you all Amen !

Interesting. Kinda creepy if it's true... but once my super excited born again Christian friend told me that the world was going to end after the eagle (america) sprang forth fromt the lion (england) and waged a holy war against the many scaled water beast (in his rendition, the middle east). So which is scarier? Hum.... Again, I don't at this time remember what text he was following at the time, so I can't give you a credible source or any documentation, but that is what he told me he had been taught by his pastor....

I'm skeptical about the symbology of the Eagle, a lot of nations before USA had the symbol of the Eagle. Personally, I'm skeptical about certian scriptures (not all), because I believe it has been so poorly translated throughout the ages.

Ghani, I don't know what your friend's pastor is teaching about the end times either.

I do know this. There are people running around saying the President is attempting to fulfill prophesy by bringing about the end of the age and the return of Jesus Christ spoken of in Revelations.

Absurd in my opinion because a reading of Revelations describes the events leading up to and occurring at that time....if anyone believes in the prophesy.

Nation will rise against nation...describing a world war of terrible destruction, probably nuclear...not a strategic war located in one area.

If anything, Bush's actions work in direct contradiction to what is described. Bush intends to establish representative governments in those nations who fund, train, shelter and send terrorists out as proxies for their war on the West. Note, it is the religious fanatics, terrorists and proxies from Iran and Syria who are resisting a representative government in Iraq, it is not the ordinary citizen of Iraq who will gain and share in the revenue and growth from the sale of their oil. Oil, that has until now been the personal property of Saddam Hussein.

It is said Bush is stupid...far from it. Historically, nations with representative governments do not go to war with each other, they trade goods, not bullets and bombs, nor do they threaten the stability of the world.

The sooner everyone gets it firmly fixed in their minds there is a war in progress and that war encompasses more than Iraq, being in fact a war between religious fanatics with a 7th century intolerance and view of the world and the Western nations, the clearer it will be. Clear also that it's a war we must win.

For myself, I'm intolerant of any belief religious or otherwise that has the starting point that I can be killed and should be killed because I don't believe what they believe. That is their position, surrender, convert to Islam, pay tribute, pay ransom or die.

So, whatever the truth of the various prophesies of the end of the age, Bush is working in direct opposition to the conditions described and working on a much broader peace, a peace that has a much broader application than Iraq and/or Afghanistan. And no, it is not Pax Americana.

This following verse could be referring to anything...

quote:
Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

The U.S. is not the only country to have the eagle as its symbol. There's also my next-door neighbors in Zambia and others. So this passage may not even be referring to a specific nation. Just like with the Book of Revelations, this particular passage and the rest of the chapter it came from should only be interpreted by those who specialize in interpreting religious texts. Because we all know what happens with religious texts in the wrong hands.
