Not so, Bush is going to repeal the 22nd Amendment
1. It is against the law for George W. Bush to run for president again.

More people voted for Bush than any President in history
2. Bush's victory was the NARROWEST win for a sitting president since Woodrow Wilson in 1916.

Listen to your parents. They have marked the trail for you. By the time you get to 30, you will be independents. By the time you get to 37, you will be conservatives.
3. The only age group in which the majority voted for Kerry was young adults (Kerry: 54%, Bush: 44%), proving once again that your parents are always wrong and you should never listen to them.

The majority of Americans KNEW John Kerry was on a wrong and dangerous road and refused to follow him off the cliff.
4. In spite of Bush's win, the majority of Americans still think the country is headed in the wrong direction (56%), think the war wasn't worth fighting (51%), and don’t approve of the job George W. Bush is doing (52%). (Note to foreigners: Don't try to figure this one out. It's an American thing, like Pop Tarts.)

Enough Dimocrats are now craven cowards fearing for their own political skin that they will not filibuster and lose their Senate seats as Tom Daschle did for obstructing the President's policies and judicial nominees
5. The Republicans will not have a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority in the Senate. If the Democrats do their job, Bush won't be able to pack the Supreme Court with right-wing ideologues. Did I say "if the Democrats do their job?" Um, maybe better to scratch this one.

We are willing to permit you to secede from the Union and form your own Liberal Land but you can't call it America. In fact, a lot of us would make that a demand.
6. Michigan voted for Kerry! So did the entire Northeast, the birthplace of our democracy. So did 6 of the 8 Great Lakes States. And the whole West Coast! Plus Hawaii. Ok, that's a start. We've got most of the fresh water, all of Broadway, and Mt. St. Helens. We can dehydrate them or bury them in lava. And no more show tunes!

Ohio State 31-Michigan 3
7. Once again we are reminded that the buckeye is a nut, and not just any old nut -- a poisonous nut. A great nation was felled by a poisonous nut. May Ohio State pay dearly this Saturday when it faces Michigan.

Don't get your hopes up. The fastest growing minority is Hispanics and Hispanics are sensibly shifting towards the Republicans
8. 88% of Bush's support came from white voters. In 50 years, America will no longer have a white majority. Hey, 50 years isn't such a long time! If you're ten years old and reading this, your golden years will be truly golden and you will be well cared for in your old age.

The People have spoken, get over it.
9. Gays, thanks to the ballot measures passed on Tuesday, cannot get married in 11 new states. Thank God. Just think of all those wedding gifts we won't have to buy now.

Get a grip. Republicans increased their numbers in both the House and Senate.
10. Five more African Americans were elected as members of Congress, including the return of Cynthia McKinney of Georgia. It's always good to have more blacks in there fighting for us and doing the job our candidates can't.

I drink Bud
11. The CEO of Coors was defeated for Senate in Colorado. Drink up!

We like the Bush twins too and intend to keep them around for at least 8 more years.
12. Admit it: We like the Bush twins and we don't want them to go away.

49 chambers is larger than 47 chambers
13. At the state legislative level, Democrats picked up a net of at least 3 chambers in Tuesday's elections. Of the 98 partisan-controlled state legislative chambers (house/assembly and senate), Democrats went into the 2004 elections in control of 44 chambers, Republicans controlled 53 chambers, and 1 chamber was tied. After Tuesday, Democrats now control 47 chambers, Republicans control 49 chambers, 1 chamber is tied and 1 chamber (Montana House) is still undecided.

Bush is the undisputed leader of the Repbulican Party and will get pretty much what he wants.
14. Bush is now a lame duck president. He will have no greater moment than the one he's having this week. It's all downhill for him from here on out -- and, more significantly, he's just not going to want to do all the hard work that will be expected of him. It'll be like everyone's last month in 12th grade -- you've already made it, so it's party time! Perhaps he'll treat the next four years like a permanent Friday, spending even more time at the ranch or in Kennebunkport. And why shouldn't he? He's already proved his point, avenged his father and kicked our ass.

Bush has a excellent map and doesn't take wrong turns...or in this case "left turns"
15. Should Bush decide to show up to work and take this country down a very dark road, it is also just as likely that either of the following two scenarios will happen: a) Now that he doesn't ever need to pander to the Christian conservatives again to get elected, someone may whisper in his ear that he should spend these last four years building "a legacy" so that history will render a kinder verdict on him and thus he will not push for too aggressive a right-wing agenda; or b) He will become so cocky and arrogant -- and thus, reckless -- that he will commit a blunder of such major proportions that even his own party will have to remove him from office.

Imagine Michael Moore running a naked reverse and getting driven into the ground like a tent peg.
16. There are nearly 300 million Americans -- 200 million of them of voting age. We only lost by three and a half million! That's not a landslide -- it means we're almost there. Imagine losing by 20 million. If you had 58 yards to go before you reached the goal line and then you barreled down 55 of those yards, would you stop on the three yard line, pick up the ball and go home crying -- especially when you get to start the next down on the three yard line? Of course not! Buck up! Have hope! More sports analogies are coming!!!

Re-education classes are being set up for the 55 million Kerry voters. Standby for your enrollment letters
17. Finally and most importantly, over 55 million Americans voted for the candidate dubbed "The #1 Liberal in the Senate." That's more than the total number of voters who voted for either Reagan, Bush I, Clinton or Gore. Again, more people voted for Kerry than Reagan. If the media are looking for a trend it should be this -- that so many Americans were, for the first time since Kennedy, willing to vote for an out-and-out liberal. The country has always been filled with evangelicals -- that is not news. What IS news is that so many people have shifted toward a Massachusetts liberal. In fact, that's BIG news. Which means, don't expect the mainstream media, the ones who brought you the Iraq War, to ever report the real truth about November 2, 2004. In fact, it's better that they don't. We'll need the element of surprise in 2008.

You're not joking about Pres. Bush repealing the 22nd Amendment, are you? I realize such resolutions have been attempted before but do you think that this will actually pass during Pres. Bush's next four years?

As for making secession legal, are you joking? Civil War and Lincoln anyone? Can we say the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution? Do you really honestly think that Pres. Bush would make secession legal? I suppose he has the power to make it legal ... but why and how?

I do not like the war, but just to play 's advocate ... perhaps I should post the names of the tens of thousands of Iraqis that were murdered under Saddam's regime ... maybe hundreds of thousands ... I think people forget about that.

Yes dear Ra...

Tens of thousands of Iraqis were murdered under Saddam's regime.
However he was a dictator like so many others that are - while I write this post - doing what he did for twenty five years ...that's what we expected from dictators...

But what about one hundred thousand Iraqis - 100,000.00 civilians - that died since the occupation began?

We should post the names of all these Iraqis civilians, we should post the names of the soldiers' families of America, Italy, England, Japan, Australia and so many other countries...we should post the names of the people that are decapitated in front of a camera... we should post the names of everyone that are being kidnapped...daily

As we can see, there are so many names to post - or so many deaths to swallow - that maybe we could not find space in this Forum...unless they already became statistics as they were in Saddam's time...

Jwhop, for one thing the game with Ohio State today was not with Michigan it was with Michigan State. It was not the Spartans that Michael Moore was referring to it was the Michigan Wolverines. That's the big rivalry. If he had meant the Spartans he would have said Michigan State. He is, like me, from Michigan and he knows the difference. And your score even in the Michigan State game is wrong. The final score was 32-19. Republicans seem to have lots of problems with numbers. They never seem to add up to reality.

I realize that Republican Neo-cons have no sense of humor but this article by Michael Moore was done in humor. It really is not necessary for you to dissect and try to disprove every item of humor. Get a grip!!

Also, even though he lost (???) the election, John Kerry got more votes than any president in history too.

As for the blue states suceeding from the union: If you look at all the blue states and compare them to the red states if we suceeded from the uniion you would all be in big trouble. The blue states are where most of this nations resources lie. The blue states have the largest cities as well. There would be no capital in your America most of those red states have low populations and farming is their number one industry. If Detroit left the union where would all the rednecks get their pick up trucks and SUV's?

Glad you got your Michael Moore fix for the day though.

Thank you for showing us EVERY NAME....every young life George W. Bush was responsible for snuffing out!

If you didn't bring it home to some....rest assured that you brought it home to me! LOUD AND CLEAR.....

...and let's hope and pray that it never reaches the number of names that we have on the VietNam war memorial....altho with four more years of bush, it could very well start heading into those numbers....(God forbid!)

Jacqueline.....I'm so glad you brought to Ra's attention the number of Iraqis who have died "under the bush regime"...and this would also include women and children....not to mention all the names of soldiers from the other countries who somehow felt they had to stick their noses into this (although I understand some are wising up now, and leaving )

Had you not mentioned this Jackie....I was going to...

If Bush encouraged the blue states to secede, their economies would collapse because it's the Republicans who are successful and pay the overwhelming majority of taxes there and who would immediately leave Liberal Land and move, to rejoin America.

Perhaps you haven't looked at the Ohio State and Michigan football schedules. Michigan is scheduled to get beaten by Ohio State on November 20th, not last Saturday.

Of course, valid points. Like I said, I do not like the war, I do not like any war, it is entirely unnecessary. And death seems to come to untold millions every year, with or without it.

Look back, then look ahead ... what would have happened had we not gone to war? There are many possibilities. Which is better? Almost all lead to death and injustice and corruption. As was said, there are murderous dictators doing their thing as we speak ... what about them? What would YOU do?

War is not the answer, I agree ... but what is? And if someone mentions the United Nations, I am leaving this string to it's death!

I do not have an answer, but if we continue on this path, the future is not going to look very pleasant for our grandchildren. And this goes for either of the two directions we have to choose from, Republican or Democrat ... they are both destructive.

Good Luck.
