I highly recommend this book to anyone who is concerned about global warming. It offers a facinating solution that I think has the potential to satisfy progressives and conservatives alike..

Who Owns The Sky?

There's selected exerpts from the book at that link if folks want a preview. I read the book a couple months ago and was facinated by it's suggested solution. Basically it would create a trust fund that every American would have a share in at birth and that would dissapear at their death.. It would be non-transferrable just like the Alaska Permanent Divided Fund. Industries that pump carbon into the air as a result of their enterprises would be required to buy a permit every year for a specified amount of carbon and the money from those lisences would go into the trust fund that would be paid out to every american each year. There are alot more details in the book and I highly recommend checking it out. It's a surprisingly short and easy read. I promise!
