Do you remember a record album that came out with a picture of the World Trade Center towers burning....BEFORE it actually happened?

I forgot who it was by...but maybe I can find it...

Gonna get to the NORTHWOODS thing now...I think I know what it's about, but am going to read it anyway.

Wasn't it about a plan to commit some crime against our own country and then blame it on Cuba so we could have a reason to go after them?

I may be off the mark here....

I DO remember reading something about that before...

It's really scary when you think of all that goes on...that the public doesn't know about....and never even dream......but after the fact...it can come out...and we say "huh?"

Lotus, when I put the info in regarding Operation Northwoods I stated that it PROVES what some people within our government are capable of doing in order to obtain their goals or agendas.

The scary thing about Operation Northwoods, outside of the proposals themselves, is that those psychotic proposals in the documents were signed by all the chiefs of staff at the Pentagon. If it were not for the higher ups in the White House at the time we would have gone to war with Cuba and at that time Russia was the other super power in the world who supported Castro's Cuba. We came very close to the beginning of World War III as it was early in Kennedy's administration.

I have read two different versions regarding as to whether or not Pres. John Kennedy and his brother Robert saw the Northwoods documents. One version I read said they did and immediately nixed the proposals. This author says it is unknown whether or not they ever saw the documents. Since McNamara answered to the Pres. I personally think they did see them.

What does it have to do with Bush? The general who drew up those proposals and many of his followers, and those that signed the documents were right wing conservatives who felt that the Kennedy's were too soft on communism. Bush and his entire administration and many of the Republican majority in Congress who consistently "rubber stamp" all of Bush's proposals are neo-conservatives. They are even more radical than the right wing conservatives who drew up the Northwoods plans.

What it states in Operation Northwoods regarding "provoking" Cuba to attack is precisely what the Bush administration is doing right now with Iran. For a long time now the U.S. has been flying nuclear weaponry onto ships near Iran within their radar range so the country can easily see what is going on in an attempt to provoke Iran to strike first so they will have an excuse to begin their war with Iran. If that doesn't work they will find another way because Bush has stated that Iran will "be his legacy." Iraq was just a launching ground, the country is strategically located,

There are many experts who think that is how the Vietnam war began. If you recall it was the Gulf of Tonkin (sp.?) incident where an American ship was blown up supposedly by the North Vietnamese government that began the Vietnam War. Prior to that incident Pres. Kennedy had only sent advisors into South Vietnam. Once again I am sure the right wing extremists in the Pentagon felt that by doing that Kennedy was being "too soft" on communism.

When you have a group of war hawks in the Pentagon and a president is elected who is not a war hawk but instead prefers negotiation and dialogue with other countries as a means to peaceful co-existance in the world, those war hawks will see the leadership as being "too soft" every time.

What Operation Northwoods and 9/11 have in common, or may have in common, is that it may have been an inside job in a plan hatched by our government, blamed on "the Arab terrorists" ( because the government is the one that named the enemy here to us) and it ultimately lead to an invasion of Iraq, a war that British intelligence documents proved was planned by the Bush adminstration even before the attacks on the WTC on 9/11. Read the Downing Street Memos. It has also been proven that Bush and those in his administration LIED to both Congress and the people of this country in the selling of their Iraq war based on what they called proof of WMD's in Iraq. Lying to Congress and the people by a President is not only an act of treason but an impeachable offense.

Didn't you ever wonder what the hell Iraq and Hussein had to do with 9/11? Wasn't it obvious to you that due to Bush Sr.'s Gulf War and the subsequent bombings of Iraq by the Clinton administration that there was no way that Iraq could defend itself in a war with anyone? The country didn't even have more than a couple of military planes left after the bombings.

That we are bringing democracy to the world by taking over countries in war after war is not the sane way of doing things. As a nation we WERE bringing democracy to the world by being the example of what democracy is to the other people of the world. Why do you think that communism failed in Russia? Why do you think the wall went down in Berlin? Those things did not happen due to U.S. agression.

Bush's strong arm, macho, cowboy mentality may serve him well in Texas but as a way of negotiation with the countries of the world it only leads to more hatred against Americans, it only makes the U.S. and the rest of the world more unsafe, it leads to nuclear proliferation because other countries WILL either begin or speed up their nuclear arms capacity in order to protect themselves against the "Great American Agressor." Even our allies do not trust us any longer. I am not speaking of the governments of our allies but the people of other nations.

Pres. Jimmy Carter has made peace in the middle east his lifetime work. He has worked towards getting the arab nations and Israel into constructive dialogue and signing peace pacts. He has believed in a just and equal policy of the U.S. treatment of Israel, Palestine and the arab nations. He won the Nobel Peace award for his efforts in that area. Not only Carter but others have worked for the same purpose, bringing justice and peace to the middle east through dialogue.

All the hard work of these people has been totally destroyed in just one term of Cowboy Bush's whacko administration and their war hawk mentality.

You also should read the plan of the PNAC, a group which consists of not only Corporate CEO's but who are also predominantly Zionists, a group that Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle from Bush's first term belonged to and a group who's meetings were attended frequently by Rumsfeld and Cheney.

As you can see in the Operations Northwoods documents doing and saying things to incite the anger of the American people to support their war was very important in the 1960's and it still is today. It always was throughout history. It's always governments who start wars due to their own agendas. The people of nations only want to live their lives in peace.

When I noticed her talking about the Northwoods thing, glancing at the very long post, it did sound familar to me, so I thought maybe I had read something about it a long time ago... which I did....BUT HAD NOT READ THAT MATERIAL THAT MIRANDEE JUST POSTED!!!
