So...how many people missed this place as much as I did....while we were 'down'?We are indeed a community....and when it felt like we were "rubbed out" as tho a bomb disintegrated everything and everyone in our community......it was a terribly empty feeling.... I for one...am appreciative...that we didn't get wiped out....and we're back together again.... Love, Rainbow IP: Logged |

May 7, 2006At a meeting between Concerned Citizens Against Spying and Micheal Chertoft, head of Homeland Securities, Mr Chertoft was asked if he was responsible for or knew anything about the rash of down Internet sites across the World Wide Web. Mr. Chertoft said he had been made aware there were some websites on the Internet which were inaccessible and there may be concerns within the departments that public websites were being used by people outside the country to spread misinformation and perhaps communicate in code. When asked if he was concerned about people using those websites to communicate and plan activities within the country, Mr. Chertoft said he wasn't free to comment on issues of securities. Mr. Chertoft was asked what specific program might be used to interrupt and disrupt traffic on the downed sites but said he wasn't comfortable discussing specifics of the various department's programs. When pressed for an answer, Mr. Chertoft admitted CARNIVORE had those capabilities and more but wouldn't agree the departments were using CARNIVORE. He said he could see that it might be necessary to be able to get into the registry files of sites suspects used for names and addresses of some of the users but wouldn't agree that was actually in progress. Mr. Chertoft said names and addresses from such sifting through public websites might typically be compared against other communications traffic developed by other departments and stored in the databases but if there were no hits or correlations to other types of communications the names and addresses would normally be deleted from the databases after 7 years. 050720065789ZUNITED IP: Logged |

Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. Just teasing, Jwhop Really though, this might be a site target for spying since it's a discussion forum and we post both conservative and liberal articles.
