Ugh.. this just makes me sick.

Gunmen kidnap Fox News journalists in Gaza: witness
Mon Aug 14, 2006 4:29 PM ET

GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian gunmen kidnapped two foreign journalists working for the Fox News Channel in Gaza on Monday, a witness and the U.S. television network said.

A Fox spokeswoman in New York named the two journalists as correspondent Steve Centanni, an American, and cameraman Olaf Wiig, from New Zealand.

A Fox news report said the network did not know who had seized them but that "negotiations were under way to secure their release".

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the abduction.

The witness said two vehicles blocked the journalists' transmission truck in the center of Gaza City and a masked man put a gun to a bodyguard's head, forcing him to the ground.

The kidnappers then sped away with the two journalists.

Palestinian police stopped and searched cars. A spokesman for Hamas, the Islamic militant group that leads the Palestinian government, condemned the kidnapping.

Similar incidents in the past in Gaza have ended with the release, usually within hours, of kidnapped foreign journalists or aid workers.

Many of the abductions were carried out by Palestinians pressing a grievance against the Palestinian government or its security forces.

Well jwhop, I think that is evidence that there exists people that pretend they care about the rights of others but in actuality they are flaming evil morons.

I wouldn't even say something along those lines if they captured Nancy Palosi.

Because these two journalists work for Fox news (and I rather enjoy Centanni's broadcasting) doesn't mean its funny to make such comments like the idiots did on that website.

We know what can happen to people that have been kidnapped by the wrong people....

Yep.. these morons make me want to puke. So much for spreading love and light for the lefties:

Some of my favorites posts:

2456037, Karma for FUX News!
Posted by Blaq Dem on Mon Aug-14-06 03:34 PM

That's what they get for calling themselves "Fair and Balance" when they know they're really not. Ha ha ha ha!!!

2456473, They cheer leaded for this disaster. They helped create this mess...
Posted by IanDB1 on Mon Aug-14-06 07:30 PM

if anyone deserves to pay the price, then it's those ******** .

I wish that no journalist would ever be kidnapped, tortured, and fed their own, quivering testicles on a plate... but if it has to happen to somebody, then I will cheer and shout that it be someone from Faux "News."

_____

This one is even more moronic than other's. The poster doesn't realize just how "Nazi" he really sounds:

2456492, They've been complicit in Bush's crimes against humanity
Posted by IanDB1 on Mon Aug-14-06 07:37 PM

Goebels may never have actually picked-up a weapon and killed someone personally, but he was every bit as complicit in The Holocaust and Mengele and Hitler.

Welcome to DU, by the way.

I'm glad to see that you've used one of your first two posts to rush to the defense of the people who have been abusing and dismantling our country.

The people in front of the cameras at Fox are every bit as complicit as the people behind the barrels of the guns.

The pen is mightier than the sword... and equally complicit in the ongoing global Genocide.

These Nazi Information Officers get absolutely ZERO sympathy from me.

Boo ******* hoo.

They kidnapped Faux TV employees.

It's their war. I hope they enjoy reaping its fruits.

Omg, I don't even like Fox News (well, to be fair, I don't like watching any news show, though I do find Fox News to be a bit too abrasive for my tastes anyway) but I don't understand how someone could express anything but sadness or anger at the idea of people being kidnapped like this?
That's beyond me.

Jwhop that is a message board and those people are not indicative of all liberals. Though you would like to believe it we are not all alike nor do we all think alike. In fact one of the posters did say she prayed for their safety and that they would soon be released. Bet you ignored that post though.

Should I go to a Republican message board and post some of the things they say there as indicative that all conservatives think alike and are alike, when in fact I know that not to be true?

Why do you insist on helping Bush to keep this nation divided, Jwhop?

"How much.....do we have to pay to get the Palestinians to keep them?

Unbelievable! Has it really come to this........hating our fellow Americans so much that we cheer their potential deaths just because we don't like the news agency they work for? What the hell is happening to this country??

I've always considered myself a moderate person who believes in getting along with your "neighbor" regardless of political persuasion but that type of "humor" is unnerving.

Also, I have noticed an underlying, unspoken belief that we should be "ashamed" of being American; that somehow America equates evil; which is completely ridiculous.
How can someone condemn the war on humanitarian terms and then turn around and wish for the death of their own "neighbors"?
How can you love the people of Iraq so much (since you don't actually know any of them) but HATE your fellow Americans if they disagree with you? That isn't humanitarian; it isn't compassion........it isn't anything but hypocrisy.
It is truly humanitarian to want human rights and peace for ALL people. If you can't look across the street without hatred for the people you know; it means NOTHING to have supposed compassion for those you've never met........

It's upsetting that any human being gets kidnapped whatever his/her nationality.

Of all the newstations and journalists though, fox news journalists had it coming.

As one of the posters of that site said, fox news has helped destroy America.

To each their own, DayDreamer, but I can't understand the idea that anyone "ha[s] it coming" to them when it comes to being kidnapped.

Hmmm you can take it as you wish.

I could be talking about karma or the lack of sympathy the posters on that site have for the fox news journalists that were kidnapped.

I do have to point out that they were kidnapped and not killed. They weren't bombed to pieces like the many victims of all the wars you so obviously sympathize with.

I doubt the kidnappers give 2 shats about what network they work for. They just saw a chance for some leverage and publicity, (i.e. American journalists)and they took it.

Let just hope they don't do anything drastic to them.

You can play any games you want to on this site. I personally don't like games. I say what I have to say and stand by it, even if I stand alone, and come what may. I have never once said that I "sympathize" with war ... a war, this war, or the simple idea of War. I can understand War and the role it has played (and is playing) in our evolution. That's it.
You can keep trying to stereotype me or generalize me or categorize me into any group you wish if that makes you happy. Anyone who's read my posts around here knows that I don't fit neatly into the "left or right" of things around here, nor do I try to. For you to say that I "so obviously sympathize" with "all the wars" that have "bombed" innocent people "to pieces" is (1) a bold faced lie, (2) inflammatory, (3) unnecessary and (4) a total waste of time.
So, yeah, if you really want to have intelligent discussions on this board, at least with me, it would behoove you to respect other people and their right to disagree with you without attempting to dehumanize them.
But that's just a request. You will, of course, do what you will.
